February 17, 200719 yr Hi allI redid the parking apron for a small regional airport. When taxing across the asphalt apron I get the effect of throwing dirt as if you taxied off the runway into the grass.Any idea what might be causing this and how do I correct it?Thanks Alhttp://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
February 17, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hi,Usually the easiest way to prevent this, is the make sure that in the AFCAD file of the airport there is also an apron defined below your taxiway. This will make sure there is no dirt. Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done. February 17, 200719 yr Thanks ArnoThe problem is that this happens on the Apron not on the taxiways. As soon as I taxi off the taxiway onto the apron I hit dirt although Im actually on asphalt,. I tried placing a asphalt apron under the relocated asphalt apron but it didn't work.Alhttp://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
February 17, 200719 yr Commercial Member Humm, that is weird. For me it worked when I added an apron in AFCAD below my new apron polygons. Another option might be to define a SurfaceType polygon in that area, this is the approach we used in the Fs2002 days. But I don't know which tool would be easiest to do this at the moment. I guess it depends on the tool you use to make your apron, which tool did you use for that? February 17, 200719 yr The apron was made with AFCAD I used a ashpalt surface.I was wondering if using Sbuilder I can create a flatten or a exclude that might remove the effect that is being created while moving across the apron.ALhttp://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
