FSX Scenery Design

Featured Replies

I have been using Nova and NovaGold Textures for airport hangers and building at FS9 airports. These textures anong with their night textures work very good in FS9 but not so in FSX.Usually my hangers have walls where you can actually enter the hanger. These hangers are designed with FSDS V3. after a few steps availabe in FSDS I end up with a Scenery Library of FSX objects.I place these objects with Flight1 Instant Scenery. In the daytime these hanger look very good but at night its a different story. At night the Nova or NovaGold textures become transparent and you can see right through the walls to the opposite wall. In some cases you can see through all the walls to objects behind the hanger.Comments are welcome from anyoneTom Jones

Hi Tom,I think this is a know problem with night textures, not sure if there is much you can do about it. Creating your object in the FsX MDL format would help, but FSDS can not yet do that.

Thanks ArnoI have had some success with the textures since I first posted but still aways to go. I use FSDS V3 which is capble of producing x files, mdl and xml files. I usually use x files and then with the MDL program I create MDL files and put them in a library.Tom Jones
