Creating an XML file for a scenery object for FSX

Featured Replies

After exporting my mdl file from Gmax, I don't get an xml file. I'm trying to add a scenery object that I'm creating to FSX and I need an xml file so that I can use bglcomp to create a bgl file from the xml file. I tried making an xml file but when I compile it I get an error in every line of code and don't get a bgl file after compiling. What is the correct format for an xml file for a scenery object that I want to add to FSX? I'll mention that I'm using Vista 64-bit operating system incase that's my problem.

Hi,Try a template like this. Of course you need to insert the GUID of your own object and your own MDL filename.

Thanks. Now I can create a bgl file but I still can't find the building I created in FSX. I copied the bgl file to my addon sceneryscenery directory. I replaced the coordinates with the ones I want in the xml file but can't find the building at that location that I specified.

Hi,Are you sure you entered the coordinates correctly (with the correct hemisphere as well)? Also did you put the textures used by the object in the texture folder?
