How to Create Custome Landclass Texture Tile??

Featured Replies

It is not clear to me ho I can create a custom landclass texture tile (not photo-scenery tile). From my limited knowledge base the SDK is not explicit on this subject.Regards,Dick BoleyA PC, an LCD, speakers, CH yoke

Hello Dick,Holger Sandmann once told me how to do it for FS9. I assume the technique can be used for FSX as well. You create a pair of SCENERY/TEXTURE folders and you place the BGL in the SCENERY folder, of course. Say that your BGL calls 10 different Landclasses. If that is so, you need to copy to the TEXTURE folder all the 10 sets of textures for the 10 classes (I say sets because there are several variations in every class). Then, if you want that 1 out of the 10 classes is a special custom texture tile, you just change, paint, edit or else, the set of textures. The modifications will be kept inside the TEXTURE folder and will not affect other regions. You need be careful with slope variations also.A better explanation should be found in this forum if you search it properly.Best Regards,Luisps: in the example above, you really only would need to copy one set of textures providing that the BGL only called the index that you wanted to customize.
