November 22, 200718 yr I am a proud FSX owner and have considering getting into scenery design and so far I have only gotten as far as to use AFCAD 2.21 to build airports. At first, I was going to use the Object Placement Tool to place scenery at the airports, but when that didn't work, I downloaded SBuilderX to place scenery but I can't figure out how the coordinate system works as it differs largely from FSX's and AFCAD's coordinate sytem. For the Object Placement Tool I have the .dll set up just like the SDK says I should, but it never works. Any advice on any of these?

November 22, 200718 yr Hello Joe,What exactly do you mean when you say that the coordinate system on SBuilderX differs from the Object Placement Tool? Do you mean that it is not in decimal degrees, or in degrees minutes seconds? You can change the SBuilderX coordinate display in its ini file (located in the SBuilderX root directory). Just change this line:DecimalDegrees=Trueas desired. With SBuilderX, you can slew to the correct position in FS X and then SBuilderX will read the coordinates directly from the game - just be careful to check the altitude in the object placement window as it will be that of your airplane, not the ground, so set to 0 meters. As for the Object Placement Tool, there is a tutorial:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?&DLID=96257If that does not work, then perhaps you have installed either FS X or the SDK to a non-default directory. In which case, you can run the ConfigSDK.exe tool that is in the SDK directory and that should re-set the correct paths. If you have installed any of the updates for either the main FS X or for the SDK, you should make sure that they are equivalent. So, if you have Acceleration, you must install the SDK SP2 or none of the tools will work.Don't hesitate to ask if there are any problems or questions.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
