[FS9]Searching for the GUID for a particular building...

Featured Replies

I'll try to attach an image, but these are common hangers in FS9 as found at KMTN among others.I thought it was a generic building at first, but I don't think so now as I (A) can't find the right texture, and (:( the textures on the "sides" are not the same as the "front" and "back".I tried Library Object Viewer, but I can't seem to find it in the BGL files (Maybe I haven't looked at the right one, there are so many...)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181720.jpg

Does not look like a library object to me - I would say a Generic Building (4-sided, ridge roof) after all.You can either take apart the OB file and see what it says, or even better, get Jim Keir's LWMViewer2, load the files for those coordinates, and see the object directly - then, just double click on any object and have it correctly identified, including the constituent parts of any Generic Building (and this is what I did, by the way.)Best regards.Luis

THANK YOU!!! That program did the trick. I highlighted the building, and exported the source. It is an XML generic building.Looked like this Bottom texture is 100 (that's the sides of the building), which is odd since I've never seen an index that high for the textures...According to the SDK, the highest texture indexs are 84, 85 (!!?!?) Of course there is no table of "bottom" textures, unless that's the "Wall textures", even then the list ends well before 100

The texture seems to be one of the "xairport" - you could try the MediumAirport.bmp, as it does not seem to be the SmallAirport.bmp.Best regards.Luis

You mention something called the "Library Object Viewer". What exactly is this and where can I find it?!

Yep, that's the one.
