October 12, 200322 yr Howdy,I finaly was able to create 10 meter and 30 meter mesh for my local area. Some of the data is a bit out dated and I was wondering if there are any programs or methods to raise or lower portions of the terrain to conform to what is actually there?ThanksPhil C.
October 13, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Phil:depending on the size and characteristics of your area you can either use 'external' flatten switches that leave the elevation data as they are (see http://www.fs-traveler.com/flatten.shtml), or use a GIS to edit the data points directly. I have used the editor in Microdem (http://www.usna.edu/Users/oceano/pguth/website/microdemdown.htm and http://www.3dartist.com/3dao/r/allenbil/md/md4art.htm) and it works, but if the area is larger than 10x10 cells or so it will be extremely tedious. There might be simpler editors out there but I don't know of any.Cheers, Holger
