Best way to represent cliffs?

I'm working on a Bermuda scenery, and I'm trying to model the Wyndham hotel in Southampton. As you can see in these pix, the hotel is situated on a rock promontory above the atlantic ocean with a pair of sandy coves on the sides. I'm trying to represent this elevation in the sim by making LWM flattens for the water at 0m, and at the 10m elevation of the peninsula. Despite the fact the the two polygons are almost touching, I'm not getting the sharp elevation changes I'm looking for, rather I see a 45 degree pitch that deforms the land and the water somewhat.Any tips? I made a mistake attaching this second shot:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/123003.jpgI should also mention that the mesh is a 38m I made from SRTM 3-arc second up-sampled to 1-arc second, and I'd like to have the sharp elevation drop present regardless of the users' Max_vertex_level setting...Last thing, I've used SBuilder for this project almost entirely, which is based on scasm - I'm not sure if scasm handles lwm flattening different that others, so any info a plus...Thanks!sg
