TTools: What's The Latest on the Max # of AI???

Recommended Posts

Guest 727Fan

I've seen several different numbers regarding the maximum number of AI aircraft allowed in TTools. I'm at 207. Several posts said the max. was 255? What's the latest number? Or has it been established at 255?As more GMAX ac are developed, I'll be faced with a dilemna. Anybody have any advice?ThanksRick

Rick,Don't worry about it. I've got in excess of 1000 aircraft in my Aircraft.txt file and it's fine.Take care,Ian

That's very cool, Ian. Thanks!Oh, do you use Notepad, or Wordpad when openning .cfg and aircraft.txt files?I use Notepad. Because it's smaller than WordPad, maybe that's why some folks here had problems at 255.Rick

Guys,Could you offer us some link of website where you downlaod your AI fleet. With my computer performance limitation, i can only afford to use default repaint for AI fleet (Posky is too big in size). So far, i only got 70 AI in B737 747 777Sen

Sen. If compuer performance issues restrict your ability to add AI due to frame rate drops, try Mike Stone's A-320, Avro RJ85, Embraer ERJ-145. They are frame rate friendly. Also look for a 3 pak of Boeing 717-200s. The pak specifies for AI only, since they are non-flyable, but are nice and friendly on frame rates. All are available here at AVSIM. Although I've had some trouble locating them. I did download them here, but sometimes the search tool delivers nothing. I don't know why it does that. It might be best to search the entire Aircraft 2002 section. Prepare for a long stint.I decided to also join Flightsim. They do have some things AVSIM doesn't. But most downloads come from here.Rick

Thanks Rick, I know Mike Stone's fleet for a while, but never know that they are frame rate friendly. I will download them to my poor computer and see a great result of AI.AVSIM and flighsim.com are both great resources, they help flightsim community to get together and share great ideas and files together. These two websites are the MUST go websites for me everyday!Cheers,Sen

See the Aircraft pages in the "Downloads" section of my site. I use nearly all of them as AI Traffic aircraft. The L-1011's by Mike Stone are a little strange. They regularly climb to 100,000 feet at around 30,000 fps, before returning to their assigned altitudes. (Kinda funny). You will see many of them are repaints of stock FS2002 aircraft, and others are GMAX created. A few do not work well for AI Traffic, like the America West 757.
