June 10, 200223 yr Hey Tom. That photo of yours at LAX is driving me nuts Did you remove all of the default Fs2002 aircraft from the Fs program and replace them all with the early stuff? I like that idea of just the early aircraft moving around. Thanks for your thoughts Tom.Frank.
June 10, 200223 yr Frank,Sorry, insanity wasn't my intention... :)Seriously, I did indeed remove all of the default jets from the AI traffic (they are still installed, though). I kept the default Cessnas (etc.) to provide GA traffic (common at smaller terminals like Sacramento, etc.).Basically, what I did was modify my CA 1959 scenery to make it FS2002 compatible (some minor tweaks), use TTools (and AI Traffic) to remove all the default airline flights to/from/in California, add all new propliner flights based on my old timetables, edit the GVP and WAV files to add old airline names (like Western, West Coast, Bonanza, and Pacific) and remove the female voices, use AFCAD to redo the runways and taxiways to match my 1959 scenery (including overlays at SFO and LAX so aircraft will use 2 runways), and finally use AITM to modify the radii of my aircraft so they'll park at the correct terminals.I also created AI-specific propliners in FSDS (not animated) that are frame-rate friendly. The current ones are available at simufly.com. I've since altered them to (slightly) improve the flight dynamics and I compressed the textures to reduce the texture load (slightly).Whew! No more than a few hundred hours... :)Most of my source files will eventually be available, after I move my web site so I have more room (a while yet).Take care,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
June 10, 200223 yr Got everythig you said Tom! That is really impressive what you did there. Wonder if there was ever a chance of Fs coming out with a retro type Fs program of the early years? Would be interesting to see who would jump on that. Thanks for the fast reply.Frank.
