June 11, 200223 yr What is the minimum separation between 'holding' to take off and 'to land' AC, is it a fixed (adjustable somehow, maybe..) figure like 1.5-2 miles?.I'm asking because i added traffic, around 10 AC, to an untowered local GA aerodrome in UK, EGSG, with 5 minutes separating flights ( vfr FL 027 egsg-egsg circuits) but it seems i cant have cessna's doing VFR circuits as the airborne AC never seem to get far enough away from the holding to takeoff AC for them to be cleared to GO. If the plans are changed to IFR then the much larger (wider) circuit allows every one to get airborne and everything moving. The clearing the runway problem is solved by having loads of exits, as its grass they can exit anywhere and as soon as they're down to taxi speed they leave .Would be great to have a more realistic 3/4 - 1 mile separation in the circuit.Log
June 11, 200223 yr Author The distance away from the airport getting clearance to land varies between IFR and VFR, but it is hard coded into the program, AFAIK. And most people want this farther away, not closer!! :) Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
