June 17, 200223 yr I'm using AFCAD to open two runway at the airports. ATC is telling me to go to this runway, but that runway is not the active one. For example, at jfk ATC tell me to go to runway 31R for takeoff, but they are takeoff and landing at 31L
June 17, 200223 yr Author We can't answer if we don't understand the problem. You say you used AFCAD to open two runways at the airport, but then you also say that they are using only 31L for takeoff and landing. What happened to the other runway? (31R)Did you create any flight plans to use the overlay that uses runway 31R? (i.e. somthing like 2JFK). If not, all of your AI aircraft will use 31L (which I assume is the runway used in the KJFK overlay).Your plane, however, will contact the Ground facility with the closest airport reference point, which apparently is the overlay for runway 31R. Ideally, you should move the reference point to the center of that overlay's runway.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
June 17, 200223 yr I'll bet he's refering to the ATIS broadcast instructions Tom.Rastajune,FS2002 ATIS radio broadcasts do not recognize multiple runway usage. Even when you have dual runways activated, they will say "Landing and departing runway 28L" or whatever. You need to tune your COM radio and request take-off or landing clearance from the airport tower to receive the correct instructions. At some point, it wouldn't surprise me if someone figures out how to make the ATIS give the correct instructions, but in the meantime you have to "talk" to the tower to get the correct information. If you know you are flying into a AFCAD modified airport that has parallel runways activated, you can figure out which runway is being used for landings from the ATIS broadcast. For example, if I'm flying into KSFO (AFCAD modified), and ATIS says "Landing and departing runway 28L", I know that I'm actually going to be landing on 28R. Hope this helps.

June 17, 200223 yr No I didnot use any overlay plan, I just open airport AFCAD and try to change the runway, and no I didnot listen to ATIS. it was the ground.
June 17, 200223 yr Author How did you change the runway? Can you list the settings in each runways Properties box?-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
