ATC

Featured Replies

Hi AllCan someone tell me if there is a way to change the area that ATC Covers ie Can you change the coverage from 10miles to 25 milesCheersNic

ATC covers the entire globe. What I think you are asking is, "Can Tower take over at a greater range?" I don't think anyone has the answer except control is usually at the distances used by FS2002. Microsoft may have compromised to have a set distance vice variable distances with each airport. To have variable distances would involve additional perimeters for each airport in the various scenery files thus making the whole program larger.

Hi wsieffertThat's what i mean It's just the local airport near me covers a larger area than FS2k2 does.It would of been nice to get the coverage right. Thanks for the replyNic

Hi Nick,I'm not sure how the ATC coverage is arranged in FS2002 as the enrte centres are in different files in the ATC scenery folder.I tried to see if SCASM would help but it would not decompile the areas although it did show some lat and long details, presume the area covered. Re the AFD coverage for airfields, I deleted an approach control for one airfield and next time in same same area got a different airfield so trying that might help, after backing up the originals of course!!!Rgds Ron

Hi RonThanks for the info but i think it's a bit beyond me at the moment.CheersNic
