Re: Air File Edit

Featured Replies

I just had an HDD crash and lost ALL my FS2k2 stuff - 9Gb of it, lots of it unique to me as I play around a lot with AI, scenery etc.! And before anyone says anything I hadn't got a recent back up :(Anyhow I am on the very long road to recovery and have started to re-install my aircraft (of which I had over 450 for AI purposes alone!)and can't for the life of me remember what I have to edit in the *.air file to make them 'invisible' to the aircraft selection menu in the FS. Removing the panel folder doesn't work either!Any help would be greatfully received - thanks in advance.Peter Leadbeater,Air Pierre, Warrington, UK.

Item no. 105, *Aircraft Type=2Desert Jockey

Cheers me dear, your a star!Bests, Peter.

>Item no. 105, *Aircraft Type=2 >>>Desert Jockey later ...Sorry to be a pain - but what if there isn't an 'Item No. 105' in the .AIR file? How do I make them 'invisible'?Peter Leadbeater,Air Pierre, Warrington, UK.

I haven't seen an AIR file without this entry. Look for Aircraft Type or something similar. Type 0 is Normal, type 1 is something else, and type 2 is CFS AI Aircraft. That's the one you want.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

All my air files (including the defaults) have this entry as #105BOOL 105 Rotary Wing Type?=FALSE(0)I can only change the zero to a one?Strangely I have no entries just giving 'Aircraft='.Must admit that is not the way I remember it either as I have definately made the adjustment previosly!?Peter Leadbeater,Air Pierre, Warrington, UK.

Peter,this is the working entry in my aired.ini:105=*Aircraft Type,int32105h=0=Normal, 1=Helicopter, 2=Non-flyable(CFS AI Only)ckfly

Hey Guys - problem solved!!After my HDD crash I had only been able to 'rescue' a couple of partitions one of which included an FS98 version of AirEd. Somehow my associations were picking this up and the information seems was all over the place, particularly for the 105 section.Having got the latest version now all appears well - phew, another piece of my very large jigsaw in place now!!Thanks for all your help - much appreciated.Peter Leadbeater,Air Pierre, Warrington, UK.
