August 24, 200223 yr When traffic is taking off on runway 08 and uses the turning circle, the aircraft doesn't align with the runway after the turn, but takes off on the grass at the side. I have tried fiddling with the taxiways and nodes via AFCAD but with no luck. I have shortened the runway so that the aircraft takes off from the 08 holding point with no backtrack but this does not allow enough distance for takeoff for the 757s etc. and they finish up running out of runway. Not very realistic. Any help on this problem will be much appreciated,Mick Francis
August 24, 200223 yr A few things I've heard:1. Try moving your turning circle out towards the edge of the runway (or even into the grass a bit).2. From your hold short node at the edge of the runway, run a parallel taxiway down the runway, having it move to the turning circle at the end and finishing at the runway's end.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
August 26, 200223 yr Hi Tom,Just a quick note, option 2 wont work when more then two aircraft are active, cause the sim doesnt see if two taxilines or in this case a taxiline and a runwayline are too close together for the aircraft to touch (no traffic gets called out, unless the taxiline and the runwayline intersects, but then the aircraft starts following the runwayline and the problem at the turningcircle still exists). So, what you said I've tested that in backtrack procedures a LOT, and ATC just keeps clearing aircraft for take-off while they are still on that taxiway that you made on the runway.Option 1 is preferred, best results I got is when you move your taxiline just outside the starting circle and make a loop around it..Did I say a quick note..LOL...hope it helps...
