Problem with AFCAD - Overlay airport

Featured Replies

I am using AFCAD 1.1 because I've heard of the fact that you can make the AI traffic land on more than one runway. I tried to make EDDL have 2 active runways using AFCAD, but it does not work; when I select EDDL (Dusseldorf) as my starting airport and ask for a taxi clearance, I am told to taxi to rwy 5R. When I select ZDDL (Dusseldorf 2, my overlay), it's the same... I even deleted runway 5R in the overlay, but I am still told to use it for take-off...

Download AFCAD 1.2.2 and read the manual section on overlay airports - it will help you fix this problem.Basically, you will contact the overlay with the closest airport ref point, and you will need to move those. However, the ref points are also used to contact ground after landing, and thus you often have to compromise between you contacting Ground for takeoff, and you AND the AI traffic contacting Ground after landing. Most authors consider the latter problem to be more important and they fix that instead.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
