assigning planes

Featured Replies

Guys,Is there a tool/way to automatically assign your AI a/c to all flights in a new flt plan? I only have about 10 a/c in far east liveries and have downloaded flt plns for JAL, Singapore, etc. Would like to be able to use my limited # of AI a/c on all these flights to keep from having most of them eliminated. Relatively new user of afcad/ttools/aitm. Thx for any help!Note: Apologize if you've seen this post twice. Posted very early this am, but can't find my original post since new format change.Regards,

It sounds like this is your problem:You've got about 10 appropriate aircraft, and about a hundred different aircraft in the flightplans. I've never tried this myself, but I'm pretty sure it will work. The aircraft.txt file provides a mapping from aircraft number to aircraft. What you can do is create an aircraft number for each plan in the flightplans, but then assign many of them to the same plane:AC#401,435,"JAL 737-400"AC#402,435,"JAL 737-400"AC#501,480,"Singapore 747-400"etc...In this example, both 401 and 402 will be the JAL 737. You won't have to touch the flightplans, and when you find an additional aircraft you can simply substitute it for one of your duplicates.By the way, if you're working on the Far East, you really should check out the airport scenery at http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/sfs/ to upgrade the 7 Japanese airports. They are really, really good and they come with AFCAD's.

AI Traffic Mover will allow you to substitute an aircraft you have for all flights of an aircraft you are missing with a few clicks.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
