No Airports in AFCAD2

Featured Replies

When I open up AFCAD2, I get the message that the data on airports is being collected, but the left-side list remains blank. Searching for an ICAO code doesn't work either. I can open up an individual file and see the airport.Any ideas on what is not working?Joe

Hi,AFCAD uses the scenery.cfg file to find the airports - to into the Scenery Library (from the Settings item in the opening screen) and make sure that all the scenery layers are there and that they are checked.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

I have done some recent work on my scenery files using Scenery Manager and perhaps I left something out. I thought the airports were all in the Cities subfolders, but when I try to open them separately in AFCAD2 (such as IMGOHARE.bgl), it tells me it is not AFD format. So these obviously do not contain the airports. Can you tell me where the default airports are in FS9 scenery files so I can make sure they are included in my SCENERY.CFG.Joe>Hi,>>AFCAD uses the scenery.cfg file to find the airports - to into>the Scenery Library (from the Settings item in the opening>screen) and make sure that all the scenery layers are there>and that they are checked.>>Hope this helps,>-->Tom Gibson>>Cal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.com>>Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com>>Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

Can't say for sure but it looks like the "No airports" symptom came from using full, absolute paths in scenery.cfg. I use FS Scenery Manager 1.7+, a great tool. There is an option there to turn all relative scenery paths into absolute ones. I did that and subsequently (and unknowingly) all the airports disappeared from AFCAD2. I happened to change one scenery back to relative and noticed the airports in that area showed up the next time I tryed to open an airport in AFCAD2. So I changed all, and now all airports are back.Strange, but apparently the case.FYI
