July 31, 200718 yr Hi AllIm in the process of creating a new scenery for Newcastle Airport using EZ Scenery and have spent the last week creating a reasonably accurate Afcad2 for it.Just a question to see if anyoen could give me some advise.Newcastle has one runway 07/25. The 07 end is closest to the terminals and as such is normally where flight departs from. As far as i can remember the last time i flew into Newcastle we came in over the North Sea and landed on 25. This would mean in effect that there is take off from 07 and landing on 25. Ive been reading through the posts to find out if it possible to replicate this in Afcad2. At present 07 is used for both landing and takeoff, despite my marking 07 as closed for landing. Can anyone offer advise please as to whether i can do it on the 1 afcad or would i have to go down the road of making up 2 afcads.Ive tried changing the wind direction but that doesnt seem to work. Thanks in advance.Tom
July 31, 200718 yr Hi,You can try removing the start position from Rwy 25, and then setting the wind to 250 degrees or so. If there is an ILS at the 07 end and not one at the 25 end you will need to increase the wind to 8 kts or sometimes even higher. Restart FS to see the changes. This only sometimes works...Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
August 1, 200718 yr Hi TomTried deleting the starting point on 25. at what point do i change the wind direction. Is it at the opening screen or after ive loaded a flight say flying from EGNT.I did the later changed the wind direction to 245 (as per my 25 runway heading) restarted Fs9 went back to EGNT and they keep flying into 07.Could i poss send you a copy of the AFCAD to see if you could see what im doing wrong.ThanksTom inScotland
August 1, 200718 yr Hi,This technique only occasionally works, so there's probably nothing you are doing wrong. Did you try setting the wind to 8 kts or so at 245? Sometimes this technique simply eliminates the use of Rwy 25 altogether, unfortunately.Rather than restarting FS, once you are at EGNT and you set the wind you can reset the ATC by going to World/Map, changing your heading by one degree, and clicking OK.You will normally have to set the wind manually, well in advance of your arrival (if arriving), if you use real weather or similar.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
