Pete, little problem with repaint

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm finishing my Swiss 737 but I have a problem with the tail, one side looks perfect and the other is a little weird like if it was using the left and right... here are screens to show you...Thanks for any helpcheers

Yep, this is where trial and error, hand-eye coordination and ton's o' patients comes in. You're dealing with a rudder which has a different scaling factor than the rest of the verticle stabilizer. The bottom of the rudder needs about 6-8 pixels worth of adjustment upwards and the top needs around 12 pixels downward. This is approximate, as the scaling factor gets larger as you move up the rudder. What I do is try to find where the rudder 'hinge' line is located then using that location as a reference, adjust the mis-aligned graphic up or down as required. It'll take several adjustments to get it to look right but it can be done. You may need to also do some adjustment to the left hand side of the rudder, as that area is also scaled. Moving graphics to the right about 2-4 pixels is a good starting point for the lateral movement. Using the paintkit, the right most rudder line is approximate to where the 'hinge' line is located. All of the 737-500's have this rudder alignment issue and as you can see, you can deal with this effectivly.Good hunting,Pete

Thanks for your help Pete, one of the sides is almost ready... One more to go, than a couple details more and it'll be ready to ship.cheers
