New to Fly 2 !

Featured Replies

HI people, Winch here I just bought fly-2 and am wondering if I got thefull package! It was in what appeared to be a sealed box.The contents were 1 cd-rom in a jewel case sealed in plasticwith the same picture as on the box, and a 38 page book. The reason I ask is I'm not finding some of the things I'mreading about in some posts like sky tweaker. In fact there is no sky.ini file in my system folder! I've tried puttinga downloaded sky.ini file in my system folder, and changingallowskytweaker=1 in fly.ini but the sky does'nt change!I'm using the .240 patch. Did I get some short version of Fly 2, did I get screwed onthis deal? I was told it was the full product! Help! Winch

Winch,You probably mean "skies.ini" - if you've been successful in patching to v240, you probably have a full version of Fly!II. Everything that was missing from your package (complete manual, sceneries, maps, etc.) are all available for download from the file library.Fly!II as it comes doesn't have a skies.ini file until you create and save one or download someone else's. Running the Skytweaker isn't necessary, unless you want to make your own versions or set up a switching operation between different skies sets.Skies.ini files give you different color/shades of skies (not cloud sets, etc.). Some of the different skies can be very subtle and may not look that different until you change the time. I would download several sets and see which one you like the most - run the time backwards and forwards. The sunrises and sunsets really show off the different hues. :-)
