May 27, 200224 yr For all you "propheads" out there, here's a real treat. read John Deakin's detailed account of flying the CAF Boeing B-29 Superfortress "Fifi" at :-http://www.avweb.com/articles/pelperch/pelp0056.html
May 27, 200224 yr Thanks for the link! I've been in "FIFI" three times for the CAF tour (not in flight), & found this article to be of great interest. Especially items like steering, braking, prop clearence, etc. I'm use to castoring nosewheels & differential braking, but this plane sounds like it's a "pain" to get use to for new B-29 pilots!!L.Adamson

May 28, 200224 yr Thanx for the article! Very appropriate for me today, as I had the pleasure of flying in the back seat of the CAF SBD today as we "escorted" the B-29 and B-24 into Peachtree-Dekalb airport in Atlanta. (Sometimes it _does_ come in handy being both a Hurricane Hunter and on camera with the Weather Channel. :-))Had a great time, including a flyover of some Memorial Day festivities, plus "beating up" downtown Atlanta. I believe the planes are at PDK for a few days, so if you're in the Atlanta area, check 'em out!Warren J. Madden
May 29, 200224 yr Boy what memorys this post brings back. I flew with the 98th bomb wing out of Yokota Japan during the Korean War as a FE. I was very at ease in the B-29, I thought it was one hell of a aeroplane. If only we would have had the R 3350 Compounds in thouse days, it would have been even better than the B-50.Denny
May 29, 200224 yr I sure would like to see an "accurate" flying model of the B-29 for FS2k2. Anyone know of one?
May 29, 200224 yr Just wait patiently and you wish may come true! Thats all I can say or now. Check the Screenshot forum in a half hour or so and there may be a suprise there.
