My throttle control no longer functions on my Saitek jo

Featured Replies

Hi All,I have a problem that has devoloped that I cant solve. My throttle control no longer functions on my Saitek joystick, However when I perform a test(Options/Controls/Calibrate}the throttle lever works just fine. Also I noticed some joystick button assignments mysterioulsy change from time to time since installing FSmaintanence. Maybe the two problems are related. Has anyone else had this? Thanks,Tom

If your button assignments have been changing it will be worth checking that the throttle axis has not been reassigned to something else..... Can't think why that would happen - but then again I do not use FSMaintenance....

Also check at www.saitek.com for the latest drivers for your joystick. RegardsTim

I've noticed that this has gone on now for about a month: at irregular intervals, a number of the Saitek assignments "change". Usually, this involves something changing the axis assignment for the throttle from Axis 2 to either 5 or 6. In the axis assignemts in the Joystick profiler the assignment will show up as "Rotary 2". Personally, I've found the new Saitek Windows XP software to not be very useful: my setup just ignores it. I did install the newest driver from Saitek, but honestly cannot recommend the software profiler that comes with it as it just doesn't seem to work in FS2002(for me,at least). The quickest solution that I have found is to "restore the defaults and then just reprofile that buttons again. I have no clue as to why this happens. The other alternative suggestion that I've tried is to make a backup copy of FS2002.cfg and then use that to overwrite the file that's been changed. Works a lot of the time, but not always.Any other suggestions that anyone have would be welcome.System:MSI 694Pro2PIII@1G1G PC133RAMgeForce2 MX400 64MEGTurtleBay Sant Cruz SoundSaitek X-36 USBWin XP HomeBest Regards,Ed Green, [email protected]
