Fly II Engine Startup Times for the Jets

Featured Replies

Hello, I noticed the spool up times on startup are way too fast for all the jets. N2 zips up to 60%+ before you even move the fuel control switch. Is there a fix for this, or is there a way to limit the max N2 with the fuel control switch in cutoff? Robert Williamson

G'day Robert,If you extract the amp file and nfn file for the aircraft in question to the world folder and then you can use wordpad to make the changes you require. It will require a lot of trial and error. Some of the tags are self explanatory but some are not and so patience is the order of the day make small changes and then boot fly! II to see if the effect is what you want. is a time constant tag and the value on the line underneath is time in seconds.I would suggest you look at the nfn file first as it contains quite a few time constants for various parameters. The amp file also has a few time constants mainly for indications (instruments) but also for reverse thrust deployment. edit: also for auto ignition !!The attached file is for the Hawker.Have fun fiddling - :-)Cheers,Roger

Thanks for the info! Robert Williamson
