reinstalling Terramodels

Recommended Posts

Guest Dean

Allen,I have a TM work in progress. I am going to be upgrading my hardware so a reinstallation of TM will occur on a new HD. Other than what is in the FlyIIdata folder what do I need to save in the way of models, files, etc to be able to pickup where I left off?

Dean,What I usually do is create the response file and Build the pod. Save the pod to another disk (or email it to yourself or some who can return your email). You can then unpod the pod to the new HDD once you have installed FLY!2 and TM2.2Good luck!

Thanks Jim. I don't need to save any of the models or project files to continue working on this airport after I reinstall TM?

Dean,Jim's idea is a good one for restoring files in the Fly2 directory. You probably also want to backup files in the TM2 directory. This includes all the following subdirectories: IMAGES, PROJECT, POINTS, and maybe SIGNS. For sure you need the files in the PROJECT folder. You need the IMAGES folder for your background images. Without the POINTS folder, you will not see tree boundaries and other irregular shaped objects. I don't remember about SIGNS, so you better back it up too :)I think that's it.Allen
