Dex import error

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to solve this error with Deximport GUI?-----------------------Scott CannizzaroPPASEL-KTEB

DexImport has been very trustworthy, but on rare occassions it's given me a similar error. In most cases, after closing the GUI and starting again, the import went fine.On one occassion where it still didn't work, I erased the DEX and made a new one - the new one functioned properly.

Error 0x03 is "Path Not Found". This is usually a symptom of moving Fly2 after installation. The original installation path is stored in the registry. It's not used by Fly2, but it is used by DexImport and other third-party apps. Fly2 is not installed to "C:Program FilesTerminal RealityFly! II" like the registry thinks. The value in the registry is stored at:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARETerminal RealityFly! IIPATHDexImport is smart enough to deal with the key if if's missing, but not if it's wrong. Use Regedit and either fix the path or delete the key. If you delete it, the next time you launch DexImport, it will come up with a dialog asking you to find the FlyII install directory.-Frank

If it happens again, make a note of the error message. I've seen some 0x20 errors which are sharing violations from trying to run DexImport and another editing utility at the same time.Stupid Windows Trick (in 2K and XP, at least):When you get a popup message box (like DexImport errors), hit Ctrl-C and it will copy the text of the message box onto the clipboard. It's a lot easier to deal with than having to PrintScreen the graphic.-Frank

Thanks Frank, deleting the registry entry did the trick!-----------------------Scott CannizzaroPPASEL-KTEB
