When I open a FU screen in PSP & click 'count color used' I get >1000 colors. Why ? FU has 256 colors.B.Adamski

I assume you are referring to a screenshot you have taken? If so, even though the base textures used are 256 colour (8-bit) the rendering on screen in FU3 is done in 65536 colours (16-bit) as a maximum. Which means that you can quite easily get a lot more than 256 colours in a screenshot. FS98 and PP99 also use the same mechanism.Chris Ehttp://website.lineone.net/~flightsimukAvoid AGP texturing = Better Performance ;)

Yes, it's a common thing in 3D games... It's the "smoothing" or "blending" that adds colors, as the sim goes gradually from one of the 256 colors to another, to avoid "color jumps"... doing so it uses other colors, not included in the original 256 colors palette.Bye,Cristian
