CYYJ - Victoria Intl

Featured Replies

In have been poking around north of Port Angeles ,Flew to Victoria and Vancouver to see if airports existed or flat ground to put one on .Vancouver would be great but That little Island is not flat .I found a nice flat spot for Victoria Intl airport .It's about 6 degrees south of the real location (48.38.48N)(123.25.33W).I placed the three 150 '(should be 200') wide runways in place and tested ok.I will probably put taxiways and lights when I get time .Will have to lay a lot of concrete. That whole area is good for more Ferry Routes too.CaptRolo

Captain,It would be better to use the right spot if we can fudge it! Andre, is it possible to do a similar job to flatten OT?Never thought about it, really :-rollRegards,Jon Point

Hi All,No problems, you can flatten any location using the class map with the yellow color and GeoTilesviewer. The strip on the island is not flat but it was just a test and not a finished area. It's better to use the real place and we need much more texture and a better quality also.here is an old example of Vancouvert airporthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169838.jpg :-wave agtim

Agtim and all , That looks great ! I guess i'll have to start learning to convert geo tiles . Will need help.CaptRolo

Captain,As usual, your assistance in this would be greatly appreciated by all. I am busy re-flattening Seattle airports and redoing night lighting, which has proven to be a rather, er, hard :-rollAny help would certainly be appreciated :-wave Regards,Jon Point
