3.0 Pricing - My Take

Featured Replies

Maybe it

Hi Ed and Group, I am of the same opinion as you. The software folks put in a lot of work and I have no problem paying their price. Discount or not, that is up to them. We must not forget that these people also support their product. That certainly is worth some coins. As far as pricing goes, well, the JD group, or any other for that matter, tries to find the max using something like a min/max curve. I purchased PS1 for about $250 and still think it is a real bargain. Last night I ran to the PC Aviator site and they wanted $499. Something odd!! Well JD, we will pay and enjoy ourselves.Regards

Ed,You get no argument from me. I'm always happy to pay full price for an upgrade to a great product. Now, as a comparison, I've just spent the past month arguing with Dish Network over their latest software update and no support, and the fact that it doesn't work with the 7100. So I paid the $70 upgrade price, after a week of argument, to get the next better unit, and got a refurbed 7100! Not what I paid for. So I call and complain, and am told time after time it's all my fault.JD and Doug and Rick are NOTHING like this. They truly take pride in their work (as I can tell you working with them this long, especially on V3), and are more than willing to help out those whom have problems. And they do it for a very low price to begin with.I wish everyone had this level of pride and commitment. It's even made me work harder on ACLoader.Let me tell you, V3 has been in the works since something like January 2001, and JD has taken little time off. It's very complicated to program, yet the user will never see that. Because of JD's ability, the user will have a very simple interface, and straight-forward usage.Everyone could learn from this gentleman, this team, and this product.

I agree that good software is worth paying for. I have purchased many fine FS add-ons, a few "duds" and some great products from companies with terrible support. I feel that Radar Contact is an excellent add-on and the support by the developers is second to none."Maybe it

I also don't mind if everyone else has to pay full price for upgrades :-)As long as us loyal supporters who have purchased all versions and have initials of JP get substantial discounts for version updates...:-)
