December 11, 200223 yr I have spent considerable time making AFCAD overlays, adding gates, opening up other runways etc in some of the airports I fly into. Have also added a lot of additional realistic ai airline traffic. How will this new version of Radar Contact interact with this? For example, if I position my aircraft at a gate belonging to an overlay (say, 2LAX, an overlay for KLAX), will RC3 still recognise that I am at KLAX provided I use KLAX in the flightplanning? Also, how does it handle my vectoring when there is additional ai traffic that may also be on final for my destination runway at the same time I am?
December 11, 200223 yr RC is unaware of anything going on in these files. It uses a separate database of airports and runways. However, in RC you can always request any runway you want. You would probably use that feature often to ensure you were directed to the same runway as your ai traffic. There should be no problems. As for vectoring, no account is taken of where the other ai traffic is. As with the msatc you just take your chances. All the best,Johnhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/RCbeta.jpg
December 12, 200223 yr Just use the base airport instead of an overlay in your actual flight plan. In other words, even if you're starting at a gate that belongs to 2LAX, use KLAX in your flight plan.
