Sticky Winds

Featured Replies

Hi AllI encountered this problem with earlier version of FSUIPC where I would click the Real Winds Button to off in order to reduce the wind velocity to 1 knot, and leave it at that setting so that on my arrival after decending to 5000 ft. the winds would reduce to 1 knot which makes landing easier especially in hi gusty wind conditions.I have downloaed version 2.95 latest edition and every third or fourth flight the winds velocity sticks from anywhere from 10 knots to 40 knots making it very difficult to land which I had encountered with the earlier version. I am assuming the wind velocity is coming from higher levels and remains stuck at that speed even after decending to lower levels.I have triend refreshing FSMeteo tried changing selections on FSUIPC winds and even went to weather FS2002 and reduced it to 0 wind velocity during a flight but can not change the winds which appear stuck.I was able to get the winds back to 1 knot by resetting the flight, but this takes some of the realisum out of the flight.I know this has nothing to do with RCV3 wondering if anyone has an answer. Also have reinstalled FSUIPC after removing module and ini file same problem.Sorry for being so wordyKenny G.

I have this same problem with FS2002, especially at high elevation airports. The only way I found to fix it is to erase two or three of your lowest layers of winds aloft. Then, extend your surface winds as high as they will go. Hope that helps.m.jpg"A girl and her plane...It's a beautiful thing."
