December 28, 200520 yr I just purchased Radio Contact and at first thought it was absolutely amazing. The chatter the add-on adds makes flying feel very real. The pilots report chop at different altitudes and general questions about frequencies while on the ground. Most of the chatter even seems based on location or what you are doing instead of just random radio chatter. However, being that is primarily an ATC program I have a few issues to report and am curious if anyone else is seeing them or if they can be resolved in a bug.First, I use MyTraffic2004 which always has a line ready for me at any runway for departure. Since installing radio contact there is never a lineup at the runway, it seems like fewer aircraft are moving around on the ground.Secondly, atc instructed me to taxi into position and hold with an aircraft 600 feet away landing on that runway. That seems a little too close to me.Last night I landed on a runway I was cleared for to find taxiing aircraft right smack i nthe middle crossing the runway, certainly would never happen in the real world!I also expected to be lined up on approaches with other aircraft with 100% traffic (I expected to see 2-3 planes spaced properly for landing like in real life. I witnessed two planes approach right next to each other and have go arounds and only once have had to follow another plane on landing (on this occassion I was beautifully spaced actually). Is there anyway to speed up AI aircraft exiting the runway after landing. I know this is FS and not Radar Contact but I think it would help matters for all add-ons.Has anyone else seen any issues like these or have any ideas on resolutions? If they do fix these couple of things, AMAZING add-on. Otherwise, still a very good add-on very worthwhile buying. I am truly happy with the product and appreciate what goes behind it!Blue Skies,Ivan

Since installing radio contact>there is never a lineup at the runway, it seems like fewer>aircraft are moving around on the ground.Radar Contact does not delete AI and it does not affect the "queuing" of AI for departure. If there is an issue you will need to identify it by first running a scenario without RC4, saving the flight, then repeating using RC4. FWIW: A few weeks prior to release we tested an issue that required monitoring AI lined up for departure. Several of us ran scenarios with 10-20 AI lined up for t/o, and we watched them all depart. So RC4 is definitely not affecting the way AI get queued for takeoff.>Secondly, atc instructed me to taxi into position and hold>with an aircraft 600 feet away landing on that runway. We will have to take that one for investigation.>Last night I landed on a runway I was cleared for to find>taxiing aircraft right smack i nthe middle crossing the>runway, certainly would never happen in the real world!RC4 will freeze AI on the ground to prevent them from occupying the active runway while you takeoff or land. Occasionally, an AI will freeze just as it enters the runway. Again, something that we will need to fine-tune.>I also expected to be lined up on approaches with other>aircraft with 100% traffic (I expected to see 2-3 planes>spaced properly for landing like in real life. I witnessed two>planes approach right next to each other and have go arounds>and only once have had to follow another plane on landing (on>this occassion I was beautifully spaced actually).RC4 will keep the AI away from you but RC4 does not try to manage the spacing of AI relative to each other. You would need to use AI Separation or AI Smooth for even spacing of AI relative to each other.>Is there anyway to speed up AI aircraft exiting the runway>after landing. I know this is FS and not Radar Contact but I>think it would help matters for all add-ons.There are several tools that enable you to adjust AI taxi speed. AI Smooth has such a facility. Another is FS9 Configurator. Both can be found in the AVSIM file library.>If they do fix these couple of things, AMAZING add-on.We are always looking to fine-tune and improve. December 28, 200520 yr Thanks for your quick response. Is there a way to disable FS ATC when using Radar Contact? That is something I forgot to ask. I am not sure if FS issues ATC instructions which conflict with what Radar Contact is telling AI aircraft. In response to a few of your points:

December 28, 200520 yr Hi Ivan,I'm assuming that, despite the aircraft with it's tail overhanging the runway RC didn't give you a go-around. That would mean that RC didn't think it was on the runway (if we detect an aircraft on or near the runway we allow it to continue taxi-ing for obvious reasons)! What sort of aircraft was it?I assume you have rebuilt the scenery db. As you suspect we are dependent on correct info from the af2 files to tell us where the runways actually are.All the best,John
December 28, 200520 yr I dont remember the type of aircraft. I want to say 737 family but not positive. I did re-build the scenery but will do it again just in case.
