January 5, 200620 yr Over the last couple of days I've flown the same route quite a few times, actually testing another aspect of FS. The route is from Brum, UK EGGB to Dublin EIDW, couple of hundred miles or so. The route also passes very near to Manchester airport. On all flights apart from departure and approach, I've had no hand-offs at all - the one Controller - I think it's London - has taken me the whole way.I see folk are querying multiple hand-offs, just thought I'd query none! Is this correct, or have I forgotten to do something?Bud
January 5, 200620 yr Hi Bud,That's probably right. By the time you are passing from London Control to Shannon control you are already with approach. You probably just don't pass through any different sectors of London control. What altitude are you cruising at? You will be passed between different centre controllers as you climb and descend if your cruise altitude is high enough. All the best,John
January 5, 200620 yr Hello John,Cruise alt. varies a little bit but is usually at 19000. I only ask because I'm almost certain that using this route with 3.1 garnered a couple of hand offs. Actually 'almost certain' probably means I'm completely wrong!Bud
January 5, 200620 yr Hi Bud,As John has said, it's correct for RC as it is at the moment but you're right if you're suggesting that's not how it is in the real world. You go from Birmingham tower/approach to Manchester Control until handover to Dublin. It's something John and I are working on at the moment and you can expect to see a number of upgrades to UK airspace realism - including the possible addition of Manchester Control - in the near future.Petehttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg
