Default ATC

Featured Replies

Hey, Before i start with a negative, i want to say how impressed i am, and how much this program has improved my FS experience. Thanks to everyone who helped on this product. However, one thing that is nagging me severely is not all the AI traffic comes through Radar Contact. I turned down my default FS ATC, and if i keep the default FS menu open, i see a lot of ATC instructions appear, but no sound from Radar Contact. Is this normal, or is something not right? For example i did a flight from Taipei to Hong Kong and did not hear a single other request for another plane, apart from my own. However, a lot of requests were issued in the default ATC box. It seems to vary, some flights i do have a decent amount of AI chatter from Radar Contact.I have the 'AI chatter' option checked.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike,Thanks for your kind words. As far as atc chatter is concerned one thing to check is the following. On the Technical tab of FSUIPC options find the 'limit tcas range' and enter 0 in the box. See the FSUIPC manual for an explanation of exactly what this does. Essentially RC will only be know about aircraft within this range of your aircraft. Setting it to 0 means the range is unlimited. If you run aismooth the range is defaulted to 40 nm so I'd quit aismooth once airborne and only re-enable it after contacting approach.(If you don't have a registered version of FSUIPC you will have to edit the setting in the fsuipc.ini file in the fsmodules folder)All the best,John

Thanks for the quick responce. I changed my FSUIPC to:[General]History=2WLNGIYAV5FZXAILTOH19TCASid=FlightTCASrange=0TrafficScanPerFrame=10AxisCalibration=NoCentredDialogue=YesClearWeatherDynamics=YesOwnWeatherChanges=NoWeatherReadInterval=4MoveBGLvariables=YesTimeForSelect=4MainMenu=&ModulesSubMenu=&FSUIPC ...WeatherReadsFast=NoI hope this is correct. Thanks again.Regards, Mike.

Hi Mike,That's what I have in mine so it should work. All the best,John
