January 31, 200719 yr The problem that recently developed is that on decent to KSFO on a flight from KSEA to KSFO at the 50 mile wx check point as soon as the copilot recieved approval to check the weather the screen went black accept for the RC window and the FS2004 crashed. What's odd is that I haven't noticed the problem on any other flight (at least not yet). Thanks for any help.
February 1, 200719 yr Moderator Hi rbcurry,This could be related to a combination of frequencies. My mind is a little hazy on this as I've only encountered the problem very occasionally. I was able to reproduce it on a flight from Rome to London Heathrow a while back and got the crash when contacting Twr.Have a look at the departure frequencies and the arrival ones and advise if any are the same.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). February 1, 200719 yr Hi,Thanks for the reply. Yes, the arrival and departure wx brf frequencies are the same. Should they be different?Rick
February 1, 200719 yr Moderator Hi Rick,That could well be the problem. Fortunately the fix is quite simple.Locate the file f4.csv in the RadarContact data folder. Make a copy of it before you start editing. Now the next bit is very important. If you have Excel on your PC and you use it to open this file you will corrupt the data.Instead, right-click the file and choose Open With. From the list select Notepad. Search for either KSEA or KSFO depending on which one you want to change the ATIS frequency. The ATIS frequency is the third entry in the line. First is the ICAO, next is the airport name and third is the ATIS frequency. Each entry is separated by a comma. Enter a new frequency in the range 118.00 to 134.97. Save the file and try the flight again.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
