Hello I installed radar contact onvista. component 'MSINET.OCX' or one of its dependenices not corrcetlyregisterd: a file is missing or invaild.Does anyone know how to fix this?Thanks mike

Hi Mike,Brave man eh installing Vista!:-hahThis is taken and modified from the FAQ...Open a DOS box (Start|All ProgramsAccessoriesCommand Prompt)At the prompt type the following:Cd windowssystem32 (press the enter key)The prompt will change to this:C:WINDOWSsystem32>Type the following:regsvr32 MSINET.OCX Please note any error messages. This is the error code I got " the module msinet.ocx was loaded but the call to DLLregisterserver failed with error code 0x8002801cWhat does that mean? Mike

Hi Mike,This is difficult to analyse because I don't have Vista. However, I Googled the error code and 'Vista' and found several links including this one.http://community.macrovision.com/archive/i...p?t-161030.htmlIt seems it may be down to Administrator privileges. Perhaps these are controlled differently under Vista then XP? I didn't follow the two links in the final message but they may help you.JD does have Vista installed but he's not able to visit the forum regularly following the death of his mother recently.Hope that helps.

Well I figured it out. Right click the command prompt and "Run as Administrator" you will then be able to register the msinet.ocx per the above.
