FS Passengers and Light Aircraft
it works fine with any sized aircraft. I do 90% of my flying with smaller bush type planes, 172's to Twin Otters & DC-3. There are some options that will not be available on smaller aircraft such as serve drinks, play movie, etc. since there is no flight attendant. But the rest is still there like having goals for a flight, needing to be careful or risk lose in reputation (which effects how many pax will be available for you at the airport), having to fix damages and pay for regular maintenance. You make considerably less money with the smaller planes so it takes a lot longer to earn enough to buy the next one. It's added a ton more enjoyment for me and I'll be buying the FSX version the instant it get released.cheers,Andrew

ASX multiple user account problem
manta replied to manta's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumWhen I tried to install under the second user account got the Active Sky X Installer error: Error 2753. The File 'xgaugewizard.exe' is not marked for installation. The XGraphics reinstall worked ok.Thinking it may be an issue with the different build versions I uninstalled both ASX & XG and started from scratch. After a bit putzing around the following worked:FSX1. account1: install2. account2: repair3. account1: repair (yup, had to do this again)4. account1: patch with SP1XG1. account1: install2. account2: repair3. account1: patch with SP1Both now are working under both user accounts. :-)Andrew

ASX multiple user account problem
I've got ASX and XGraphics installed onto XP Pro. Clean install of everything since it's a new computer. ASX & XGraphics start fine when logged into the user account they were initially installed on. When I try to start them when logged in as different user (both user accounts have full admin permissions) I get the error message from ASX: XEngine installation path not found... Please re-install. When I try to start XGraphics it gives the message MS .Net Framework: Unhanded exception has occurred in your application. Could not find a part of the path "D:Documents & SettinsawlApplication DataHiFiXGraphicsXGraphics_Log.txt"How can I get these 2 apps to work under a second user account?thanksAndrew

Thermals
manta replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI just spent the last 2 hours in a sailplane over the Alberta foothills chasing thermals -that's something I've never done before. Finally had to come down because I was getting hungry and missed lunch :-hah cheersAndrew

off topic: export/convert to VRML, DXF, 3DS
Does anyone know how, or if it's possible, to export or convert objects made in GMAX to either VRML, DXF or 3DS?I'd like to make some simple models in gmax (since I'm already familiar with it) and put them into a format that we can import into one of our custom applications at work.Alternately, can anyone suggest a free 3D drawing program that can save/export to any of those formats? It only needs to be able to do very basic 3D drawing.any comments or suggestions appreciatedthanksAndrew

GMAx and Textures
do have the "show map in viewport' button pressed? It looks like a checkered cube icon in the material editor, beside the Name field.Textures will only show in the Perspective and User viewports (I think anyway).

AI Helicopters
Hi all, good info thanks for posting it.Here's an idea I've been thinking of trying, but haven't had the time yet. Using some scenery tools to create an additional 'dummy' airport for the helo's to land. The runway, taxiway and parking would all be the same spot - or *very* close together and it would represent 1 helo landing pad. The drawback would be you'd need to create one of these 'dummy airports' for every AI Helo landing spot you wanted. I don't know if you can place these 'dummy airport' spaces on existing airport areas (don't see why not, but...?).And I don't know how airplane airfiles would react to the ultra short runways -might need to tweak them be become ultra-STOL aircraft.Anyway, just some ideas I've had. cheers all
