Solution - Error 1722 and 1603 FSX Gold Edition - Windows 8
On 13 march 2013 I requested help in order to install FSX in Windows 7 or Widnows 8 because both systems where giving me errors 1722 and 1603. I seached the forum since and could not get a solution until yesterday. I even intalled FS2004 so I could go on VATSIM. I found a solution on Flightsim Microsoft Community. Here is the solution that worked for me. hyasuda replied on January 28, 2013 I had the same problem. But I resolved it as follows; 1. Refresh PC (it took one hour and 45 minutes to finish) To refresh your PC Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.) Under PC settings, tap or click General. Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click Get started. Follow the instructions on the screen. The only drawback if you use this solution, is that you will have to re-install all your applications. This solution brings back your Windows 8 to a fresh install mode and corrects any problems. However it does allow you to install FSX. After running Refresh you PC, I ran MicrosoftKB928080 solution, remember to run the Cmd prompt as administrator for it to work. I immediately installed FSX and it worked flawlestly. Apparently the link to MicrosoftKB928080 has been removed, it apparently broke other applications, if it is so search for ''msicuu2'' From what I understand, is that PC vendors do not use the original disk to install windows 8, instead they use a master machine. I noticed that my Windows 8 disk was still sealed in the box. This causes error in installation of some systems. Hope tis can help somebody. I ran

Help with new installation on new machine FSX Gold Edition
INSTALLATION ASSISTANCE - FLIGHT SIMULATOR GOLD EDITION 10 Sorry if this is a bit long. I had to uninstall the Flight Simulator X program from my old PC because I bought a new one. When uninstalling - Flight Simulator Accellaration - all went well. However I was unable to uninstall Flight simulator 10 Deluxe Edition, properly, because I got the following error: The uninstall Help program is not present, - or words to that effect - and uninstall stopped there. AND THUS, I WAS UNABLE TO UNINSTALL THIS PROGRAM I bought myself a new more powerful PC. Specifications: Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77 - DH3 Processor: I7 3770K Video card: Gigabyte GEForce GTX 670 2GB 16 gig memory 2 SSD - OCZ VERTEX 3 MAX 128 GB 1 DISK WD BLACK 2 TB It is mounted in Dual Boot on 2 SSD with Windows 7 Home Premium; version: Service Pack 1 Build 7601 6.1.7601; and windows 8. Two new licences for these systems. I bought two new copies of Flight simulator X Gold Edition . During the installation of this new copy of the program, Flight sim X Deluxe Edition, on Windows 7, I encountered the following errors: Just at the end of Setup: Error 1722 then 1603, I downloaded the program "Windows Install Cleaner", no FSX program is displayed because it is a brand new PC. I then re-tried another installation of Flight Simulator X, in Windows 7, with the same result, the same mistakes. I have downloaded KB928080, I followed the instructions with the command: resetsldl - all successfully I then disabled by Windows 7, Windows Essentials, the Real time protection , I turned off user account control, downloaded and executed: Hotfix After the error 1603 everything was that was installed is erased, except the FONTS folder. I manually install all fonts present. I tried to install FSX as a Windows XP SP3 compatible , no success. It installs all the way to ''Registering Modules'' and then; I always get the same errors 1722 and 1603, after trying the installation with 3 copies of this program. I browsed several forums on several websites without finding any other solutions What is the solution for this problem, installing a new copy of FSX Gold Edition on a completely new system I have tried several times to contact Microsoft by E-mail without any success, they do not seem to support FSX anymore by E-Mail. I guess I will have to go to the last resort, and Call Microsoft, What a perspective... Thank you for any suggestion.
