  1. I'm running P3D v4.5 HF3. I was not able to get the Milviz KA levers to work with the Bravo TQ using FSUIPC no matter the settings. And I use FSUIPC for all controls in all other planes of which I have several.

I had to assign the levers in P3D axis assignments. I had to select Reverse for all axes. I also had to go into calibration and adjust sensitivity up to the maximum for several of the axes. With that, they do work just fine. I was able to assign the reversers to the "button" press of pulling the throttle levers back past the detent.

I was able to assign the other flight controls in the KA to my Alpha yoke and CH rudder pedals through FSUIPC. Now when I want to fly the KA I have to assign the throttle/prop/"mixture" axes in P3D and then delete them when I switch back to another plane. A little bit of a hassle but not really a big deal. And the KA is pretty nice so I find it worth the effort.

  2. When I click on that link to see the image I get a "Forbidden" page telling me I don't have permission to view the page. Does that URL point to a site that you have to log in to? Can you save the image you're trying to display to a site where it can be openly shared (i.e. Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.), then link to that and see if it shows up?

  3. And does anybody here remember Jon-Erik Hexum? He didn't realize that blanks still fire the wadding/plug. During filming of the show Cover UP in the mid-80's he put the gun loaded with blanks to his head and pulled the trigger. A case that demonstrates the need for solid education for anyone handling a firearm for any reason. If some sort of safety course for the cast and crew were provided, we might still be seeing him in TV shows and movies. Another terrible, tragic accident that was completely avoidable.

Education is the key to the use of anything that can cause harm - from a gun to a bulldozer and anything between or beyond.

  4. Both the Flight1 Beech Kingair 200 and Cessna Citation Mustang come with the G1000. I don't know exactly how they compare to the real life counterpart but I know I can build flight plans entering waypoints with them.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you!

  5. Probably one of the easiest ways to identify the models would be to take screenshots of the models that are missing textures. You could then start comparing to aircraft photos on line somewhere like airliners.net. Or you could post the screenshots here. I, and I'm sure others, would be happy to try to help identify the models. If you see one waiting for take off at the threshold to a runway and then hear them get takeoff clearance, you could check in the UTLive interface and see what models that airline is using too. That could work for a few here and there.

  6. If you can identify the aircraft that are missing textures, you can compare the texture folder names in the aircraft folder with the texture called for in the flightsim sections in the aircraft.cfg file. For me, using UTLive, I found CRJ 700s in North America missing textures. I found that several Delta Express liveries were not showing because the "texture=" in the aircraft.cfg corresponding flightsim sections had a different name than the actual texture folders. Not at home with my Flight Sim rig right now so can't provide actual examples. When I get home I can post some more detailed info on what I saw in my situation.

  7. Hi Patrick,

If you haven't already solved this problem, you might try searching your ORBX folder for OIIE. If you find any files you could try disabling them by adding the file extension .off or something similar that works for you. Might even search for Tehran as well.

Hope you're able to resolve it.

  8. I was using Art Poole's freeware Ft. Myers airports in FSX. After getting LatinVFR's KRSW, I removed the conflicting files from the freeware package in order to only display the KFMY scenery. I tried the package in P3d4.5HF3 but had some default scenery showing through. I was going to try to create an exclude using ADE but got busy and haven't gotten around to installing the P3d SDK and ADE etc. If you're familiar with ADE you might be able to get it to work. It's definitely an upgrade from default. I don't live too far from KFMY and even took a discovery flight from there a few years ago. Art's scenery layout looks pretty good. The package is available from here in the library:
Ft Myers, FL Airports (Download #136140)

KFMY - Page Field - Fort Myers, Florida * UPDATE * (Download #176038)

Let me know if you give it a whirl and it works!

  9. Hi Charlie,

FSUPIC has been around the Flight Sim world for a loooong time. It is a stable and actually quite useful little program. You can install for free and typically get all of the functionality that your payware addons might need from it. You can also pay to license it to get additional functionality. I have had it installed and licensed in FSX for over a decade and never had a problem. I even use it to handle my controllers' axes and buttons instead of Flight Sim. Had no problems for years before licensing either.

I would actually recommend having at least freeware FSUIPC installed in FSX or P3D any version.

Hope this helps. Have a great day (or night depending upon your locale)!

  10. In the Ultimate Terrain interface, there is an option to turn off UT's modification of particular airports. I had this issue with some of the FlyTampa Grenadines airports in conjunction with Ultimate Terrain. I just checked off those airports in the UT interface exclude list and the problem was solved.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck,

    Kail

  11. The default AI are probably going to produce the biggest performance hit in your situation. If you can stand to turn off the default AI and bump up the My Traffic settings to compensate for the difference you will probably see an improvement in performance even if it is only slightly improved. I am unaware of a way to reduce AI spawn distance from your location.

  12. I would be wary of trying that. If you're right clicking the shortcut for the program, that's all that will be sent to the external hard drive. Also you have registry entries related to the location of the program which I don't believe will be updated if moving a program by this method. This would mean installing addons would not work properly because they wouldn't find the proper program installation location. Before you try this, let some more experienced folks lend their expertise.
