  2. Hello Jake, You might search the file library here for an AI model of theEH101. You might also want to take a look at Flight1.com and check out their product called "Air Traffic FX." I believe it might help with what you are trying. I would definitely try finding an AI model first, but Air Traffic FX might work for you if you can't find one. Good Luck! Kail
  3. In the Ultimate Terrain interface, there is an option to turn off UT's modification of particular airports. I had this issue with some of the FlyTampa Grenadines airports in conjunction with Ultimate Terrain. I just checked off those airports in the UT interface exclude list and the problem was solved. Hope this helps. Good luck, Kail
  4. The default AI are probably going to produce the biggest performance hit in your situation. If you can stand to turn off the default AI and bump up the My Traffic settings to compensate for the difference you will probably see an improvement in performance even if it is only slightly improved. I am unaware of a way to reduce AI spawn distance from your location.
  5. I would be wary of trying that. If you're right clicking the shortcut for the program, that's all that will be sent to the external hard drive. Also you have registry entries related to the location of the program which I don't believe will be updated if moving a program by this method. This would mean installing addons would not work properly because they wouldn't find the proper program installation location. Before you try this, let some more experienced folks lend their expertise.
  6. Ground Environment X (GEX) works well with the Ultimate Terrain X series. GEX is available from Flight1. Also I second the nomination of FlyTampa sceneries. FlyTampa and FSDreamteam have some top notch stuff out right now and I also like the offerings from Flightbeam as mentioned above. Really good stuff!!!
  7. You might want to investigate the PMDG MD-11 as well. Sorry to throw yet another choice into the mix to make it even harder to decide. I have the MD-11 and love it. I also enjoy the Level-D 767 and Simcheck Airbus A300. Despite it's age the 767 is still just a pleasure to fly. The A300 is well made and a nice change of pace if you want to broaden your horizons from the Boeing FMC's, as is the MD-11. Good Luck choosing. Same problem I'm faced with every time I end up with a little extra FlightSim addon money. What to choose, what to choose?!?!?!?!? A problem I enjoy having.
  8. If you use FS9 format traffic .bgl files in FSX then FSX format traffic will not show. You need to convert the FS9 bgl's to FSX format using one of the freeware programs available. There are plenty here in the Avsim file library. There are a couple of differences between the two formats, one being that the day of the week numbering is different by one day.
  9. I use the default ATC. But, I do use Editvoicepack and have added some community voice pack mods. I realize default ATC has it's issues, but I don't seem to notice any more issues than normal using UT2. I also use FlightSimCommander for flight planning which can import the flight plan into FSX. Using an IFR plan you can get your SIDs and STARs to be "recognized" so to speak. I also use AISmooth.
  10. I really enjoy Flight1's Ultimate Traffic 2. With this package the AI fly actual flight plans instead of just flying straight from departure airport to arrival airport. This causes you to have more interaction with the AI Traffic. Instead of just encountering a plane once in a while, you may find yourself actually flying the same route as some of the AI for a while. This means you have to watch for traffic a little more, which seems more realistic. I also find the interface easy to use. You can add aircraft models and repaints as well as flight plans. They offer updated schedules for purchase. Plus there is a freeware program that you can download to add flightplans from ttools type files as well as other options. That program is called UT2PowerPack. Plenty of AI packages out there, but these are just the reasons I enjoy UT2 so much.
  11. you may have to reverse the brake axis of your pedals if controlled within FSX. I had to do this with my CH pedals until I started calibrating them through FSUIPC because the brakes would be "on" until I pressed the pedal down.
  12. you could increase the rate of time. "r" then "=" to increase and "-" to decrease. if you only do 2x or 4x you still have weather and traffic and all without the sim having to redraw anything.
  13. thanks for the heads up and links guys
  14. it's probably picking up another axis before you're able to move the one you want. Try hitting the "Rescan" button in the axis assignment tab a few times while moving the axis you are trying to work with.
  15. I've noticed something similar on land once in a while, and only in one of the outside camera views such as spot plane; top down; etc. My plane will sort of bounce but has never been enough to cause damage or kill the engines. It doesn't seem to be any particular plane or scenery involved that I've noticed.
  16. I really enjoy accu-feel...adds a lot to the immersion...very happy I bought it.
