As we all probably know, the first version of the Alpha used pots, while V2 uses hall effect sensors. Obviously, I want that second version. But how can I be sure that's what I'll get when I order? Is there a model number difference I can look for buried in the specs?

I did notice that the prices for the Alpha on Amazon spiked by $100+, which is often the case when normal sellers run out of stock and stupid sellers that can't price things right end up the only ones offering.  And that sometimes happens when inventory is changing over, so is that indicative that if I wait until they're offered at normal prices from vendors on Amazon again, I'll get the V2?

    Thanks all.

Was thinking of getting the Alpha... is the fact that it is using pots really a bad thing ? I though everyone praised the Alpha upon release ? And if hall effect sensors so much better, is there a particular reason they did not use them in the first version as this technology has been around for many years ?

    Thanks.

  2. As SU6 is indeed playable with good frame rates, why don't they just stop that ---- of constant SU that mess up everything ? Instead, they should fully complete the SDK and make it opened for clouds, traffic, weather, camera etc. addons.

We have never seen a flight sim that gets updated every month with new bugs being introduced and add-ons compatibility breaks !

STOP THAT ASOBO ! We want a stable sim with many external add-ons !!!😡

  3. Hi,

My setup is an OLED TV 48' together with a side 23' 1080p monitor which I use for icons and maps etc. Yesterday, I decided to select the second 23' monitor as my main display in Windows 10 in order to prevent the taskbar from showing on my OLED display (keeping it full black when no sim are running...).  I have no issue with MSFS or XP11 but with P3D, whenever this 23' monitor is selected as the Windows main display, the sim would load in 1920x1080 and there is no way to select the sedonc monitor (my OLED TV) in the P3D display settings... I can see both display showing (RTX2080.0 and RTX2080.1) in the list but whenever I selct the second monitor with 4K res, it won't save it and always return to the main monitor in 1920X1080...  meaning I can always move the main P3D window in full screen on my OLED TV but the resolution will be in 1080p...

Does anyone experience the issue before and could help me ?

    Thank you,

    Greg

Agree, but the 3090 is only 10-15% improvement over a 3080.  6800XT out of the box is showing avg. (not all games) +7% faster than 3080 and claim lower latency (anti-lag).

On the 6900XT front, only disappointment is it uses 16GB VRAM also ... was hoping for 24 or 32GB VRAM.

So odds on availability to retail outlets come Nov 18th and Dec 8th?  On the plus side, anyone looking to get a 3080 or 3090 might actually stand a chance of getting one before 2021.

    Cheers, Rob.

Would you replace a 2080Ti by a 6900XT ?  I understood that Nvidia is better supported by flightsims ?  Maybe not true anymore..

    Thank you.

  5. Hi,

I have an OLED TV plugged into my RTX2080Ti and just plugged in a second monitor (a very basic 24' 1920x1080) fir Navigraph and other stuff....   Initially I plugged the second monitor to my Nvidia RTX but then realized that my Intel i7 9700K had an integrated GPU So I plugged the second screen to the motherboard.

Was it the right thing to do in order to avoid putting more strain on my RTX ?...  and/or are there any drawbacks on using the Intel GPU together with the Nvidia one ?

    Thank you,

    Greg

  6. Hello,

I have the card mentionned in the tilte and would have 2 questions:

    - I updated the Bios downloading the one available on the  Asus website for the ASUS MAXIMUS XI HERO (WIFI) (version 1602) because under the  ASUS MAXIMUS XI HERO (WIFI) Call of Duty edition, there was only the 1401 version as the most recent... it works but I wonder if there was a reason why Asus only propose the 1401 under the Call of Duty edition list ?

    - I tried to change the logo (I don't want to have this Call of Duty logo when I boot up the PC) but using the EZUpdate utility and choosing a PNG image flashing both Bios versions (1401 or 1602),  the update went OK but the logo doesn't change....

    Thank you for your help,
    Greg

  7. You guys are probably right... Was about to get the 3090 as I often get close to 10GB memory with my 2080Ti (+ and that the most important, I need HDMI 2.1 to get RGB color at 100/120Hzon my OLED "TV/monitor" as I am now with 8bits color...   but if any 3080 comes out with a boost in memory, that's probably the way to go later... will save money over the 3090...

If this were the standard, there would be no Fiat or Opel dealers, only Mercedes and Cadillac.  There would be no McDonalds or Wendy's...only Five Guys and Fuddruckers.  There would be no Cessnas or Pipers, only Gulfstreams and Falcons.  No one-bedroom efficiency apartments, only McMansions.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.  The free market will sort it out...if something is truly of no value to anyone, that becomes apparent in the sales numbers, and vice versa.  But the fact that you don't value something doesn't mean others won't.

How can you compare McDonald's with the above mentionned Ranger Creek MSFS !  haven't you ever tasted the McNuggets ? 😂

  9. Funny findings last night....    When having Gsync (and therefore Vsync) on in the Nvidia Control Panel, increasing the monitor (TV in my case) frequency to 100Hz, maintained the same fps in XP11 (35/70 depending on the location and plane) have almost completemy remove the stutters I could get at 60Hz....  rather weird considering that Gsync would adapt the frequency to the fps... meaning that if you get 40 fps, setting 60 or 100Hz should not change anything as the display would go down to 40 hz....  anyway, I am happy with that finding....  (I actually discover it while forcing 100Hz in Xplane and have now since then setup my NCP and Windows 10  to 100HZ.
