Bite the bullet, and copy the contents of each disk to a temporary folder on your hard disk, DeltaHotel.

    Thanks Chris,

Bullet well and truly bitten - easy and quick at last. Slight hiccup when my copying put all the discs in one folder as intended, which gave me a copy of DVD1, and a separate merged copy of the other 4 discs (all same name). After the 'Run' of DVD1 it of course asked for DVD2 to be inserted - answer was to put the merged copy into the copy of DVD1, and all was then well. Of course you know this, but it might help others.

Cruachan's reference in this forum to the FlightStore forum info is exactly what we all should have had in the package, methinks.

    Happy now ...

  2. See #12 and #16 above.

Well robain's trick didn't work for me. Put the disc in and all I got was "Application not found".

No idea where to go from here. Tried unzipping just one area from Disc 2 with a view to extracting direct to the Playsims Scenery folder but that was clearly going to take more than an hour for just one of several areas so I abandoned that.

  3. I have the problem on Win 7, 64 bit.

I did persist with the slow install - 6 hrs in the end from disc 1, and then it never ended with a prompt for disc 2 ...

I can see loads of .bgls which seem to be in the right place, but think i will now start from scratch with robain's change to the Autoplay in Control Panel. I guess if it works it should overwrite whatever did succeed.

Lucky I saw all this from Mogget and co on the Scotflight forum, so thanks guys

  4. Well, forget my first post! I now do have full animation of rudder pedal movement, and coincidental movement of the nosewheel steering wheel (although mouse will not control nosewheel steering). Sure the brake pedals do not depress and I thought I had seen that in a video pre-release, but I'm very happy with what I have thanks. Yes I do have rudder pedals, and the rudders were always working perfectly. Dave H

  5. Ryan,I think so ... but 4 days since my last answer ... and in case that is your next question too, I have a default installation for everything in FSX.I'm really not trying to play one of you guys off against the other - just very grateful for any inspiration! I have certainly seen the exact description of my problem at least twice somewhere in these forums - I do realise that is a drop in a big ocean full of people who have a perfectly functional PDMG 747 - it would be good to trigger a response from someone who has fixed it.Rgds,Dave H

  6. I know I must be one of a small minority, but I still can't find any solution to this installation problem. I have the Aerosoft DVD Version 2.10, running in Vista unfortunately, but looking great, and I have the problem of no PFD speed tape, and the associated probs for the autopilot and FMC with no airspeed info (and no visible rudder movement in spot view either, although the rudder function seems ok.) I have your downloaded update, which starts to instal very nicely, but halfway through it stops with a pop-up box saying:Feature: PMDG 747-400 SimulationComponent: DLLsFile: C:Program FilesPrecision Manuals Development GroupPMDG 747-400/400F for FSXError: The system cannot find the path specified.I can still get great enjoyment from flying this beauty using manual throttles, and LNAV works fine, but please can you find me that most basic of all functions, some Indicated Airspeed, other than at top left of my triple screens!
