  1. Thanks, Pieter. I look forward to trying it.
  2. You're probably getting tired of hearing this, but would you please me a copy of the file? ThanksJimEmail
  3. I have both FS9 and FSX installed on the same machine. When I installed SB4, it installed as it should in FSX and I can run SB from within FSX. It did not install in FS9 and I have run it as an external program in FS9. It doesn't show up in modules section of FS9. Is there any way to install SB so that it will run internally in both FS9 and FSX?
  4. This is one of those "gee wish I could help" things, I have both the PMDG 737, 747 and the LDS 767 and everything works as it's supposed to. I don't think it's the 747 or 767 that's causing your problem.
  5. You can also download and use Vataware or Servinfo (both free). Either one of those will tell which facilities are currently manned...not all facilities are manned all the time. If you're familiar with ATC terminology already, I'd start at SLC...at the least Center is usually manned and sometimes all facilities are manned. As the saying on VATSIM goes "as real as it gets", so if you're a RW pilot you won't have any problems and even if you're not, the ATC guys are real friendly and helpful. Just put in the remarks section of either Sqkbox or FSinn that you're newbie and they'll keep you out of trouble. You might want start just using text and slowly move into voice. Voice is not required and a great many pilots on VATSIM use text only.Getting ahead of the game, but if you see me online (PAY3483), send me a private message and I'll be glad to help anyway I can.Jim AngelChief PilotPacific AirwaysDenver Hub
  6. Thanks guys. I thought I was done reading, but back to the drawing board. At least you both pointed me in the right direction.
  7. I'm just getting into scenery design/modification and I have all the tools. This may be obvious to those that have designed airports before, but I'm going to show my stupidity and ask any way.I would like place signs (i.e., United Cargo over the Cargo hanger, etc.) and gate numbers at individual gates. Is this a major project? I can design the signs in Photoshop or equivalent, but how do I place them on the actual building or is there another method?Thanks....Jim Angel
  8. Did you say the combo has been discontinued? It's still posted on their site. I couldn't find any place to buy the stand alone FS9 version either. I haven't switched to FSX and don't plan to any time in the near future, so I would like to buy just the FS9 version.
  9. Watch out! VATSIM can be very addictive. Unicom is very helpful flying in uncontrolled airspace and there are other planes around. You can coordinate with the other pilots so you don't have mid-airs or try sharing the same runway. Check the VATSIM web site and look at "Who's on line", show all controllers and pilots currently logged on. Have fun and maybe I'll see you in the air some time. Jim Angel callsign: PAY3463You might try to join a virtual airline and they have special events that are coordinated with various ARTCCs. Pacific Airways is an example, We have Friday Ops, Tuesday Hub nights, etc. I flew KDEN-PHNL are the way with controllers last week. It was a blast. Contact me if you want more information. 10. First, when replying to someone's request for help, it's a waste of time to imply the person is incompetent. In response to your query, I have over 35+ in various airplanes but fighters to the 747, plus I have just about that much experience in computers...my first was an Apple IIe. To answer your question, VNAV would not activate, nor AT arm. The autopilot tried to maintain flight, but at about 50 degrees pitch up it disconnected. No matter what input I used via joystick or keyboard could I adjust the pitch angle. I understand what the winds can do in flight, but to get the flight attitudes I was getting it would have had to be a force 5 hurricane.I have read about loading the cessna first. I don't get the connection, but I'll try that tonight. I'll post the screen shot of the MCP later tonight.
  11. I just purchase the FS 9 737NG 600-700. The first issue is a rather a serious one. I tried to fly my first flight last after I installed it. Initially after takeoff, the aircraft oscillate between -1400 to +1400 fpm vertical speed. After a few minutes, it pitched nose up and attained a 90 degree pitch up. Needless to say, it's unflyable in that attitude. The second is more of an annoyance. The fonts on the MCP are almost unreadable. The "4" looks like a "9", the "0" appear to be square blocks, etc. Do I need to install a different font? Is it screen resolution, on a setup step I'm missing. Thanks for any help you can provide.Jim Angel
  12. After much help, and some hair pulling, I finally got the TM2 installed, but I am having problems with flying. I suspect it's something in the config file, or an incompatibility problem. For quick flights, I use FSNavigator to do my flight planning. Once I have the flight plan saved, I can takeoff and normally hit Shift-F9 and the plane will follow both vertical and lateral plans. With the TM2, the normal climb speed hovers between 135 and 140, I am always near a stall or am stalling, it will never reach cruise alt, and totally ignores the flight course settings.I have reinstalled FS9 recently and after installing TM2, the basic 737s also exhibit these problems. Can someone give me some suggestions, or be willing to send me their config file. The installed PMDG does not display any of these features, but it's a totally different concept in AP and FMS.Thanks...Jim
  13. I am new to this community and I am constantly amazed at the expertise and the williness to help. No matter what problem I've had, someone was always willing to take time to help me. This is perfect example of that. Your instructions worked (when I finally got my head out) to a tee. The airplane is now installed and working. I still have a problem with the flight characteristics, but I'll figure that out eventually...as I learn more. Thanks to all that provided me clues and suggestions. A especial thanks to Opa for taking the time to provide detailed instructions.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to help a newbie. I did download and install the Model Base Pack, still no joy in Mudville.
  15. Thanks to both of you for responding so quickly. I downloaded tinmouse2_b732_v1_2.zip along with the updates. I've extracted the main file to FS9\aircraft. There is an aircraft.cfg file included in the zip, so I'm wondering if I would insert that into the aircraft.cfg file for FS9.
  16. I been trying to install the 737 Tin Mouse. I extracted all the files into the appropriate directory, but the airplane doesn't as a selection in FS9. Do I need to change the FS9.cfg file, and if so, what changes should I make? Thanks for your help.
  17. Thanks. I'm sometimes (but not often) amazed by my dumbness.
  18. Exactly where is this configuration file everyone keeps talking about? I've looked and looked and can't find anything similar to what everyone is talking about. ThanksJim
