  1. No, but I did end up fixing the problem.I'm not sure what the issue was/is, but this morning I originally loaded up the flight that went bonkers on me yesterday (I saved it at the point it started acting goofy). After loading up the flight, FSX didn't work very well. I closed FSX and made the post here. Reloaded, and all is well (I'm deleting the flight that went bonkers on me). Not sure what happened, but it looks like all is back to normal.
  2. My FSX went bonky last night. The sound went dead and then the screen went almost into full screen mode (it is like I can't undock the window). It changed my set up so that the opening screen is with the same flight as I had operating (instead of the default one that I had before).Upon loading up a flight, the menu bar is not there. I'm not able to close windows with my mouse. Pressing the Alt button doesn't do anything, and the keyboard inputs work (except for alt- to get the menu bar up).Any ideas?
  3. So I unclicked DX10, and the nighttime airport textures disappeared (this is a major reason for me upgrading to the graphics card). I'm curiuos what is making this happen. I haven't tried any flights with the new graphics card and not using DX10, so I'm not sure if that is an improvement (it probably is).Again, this only happens during the night. I lose my ATC taxi path, and lose the terminal. The ATC path is annoying, but not a huge deal. The terminal issue makes FSX look goofy.W/O the card it was working fine, except for the terrain would go light blue while flying at cruise (didn't look very good).
  4. I finally decided to upgrade my graphics card from the stock that came with my computer to one that could handle DirectX 10.1, and I've noticed an improvement with my graphics right away.It also made it so I could see terminal building at night (before I only had jet ways attached to nothing).Unfortunately the textures to most of my add-on aircraft (like POSKY) are blank. Even the ones that are supposed to work with FSX. The AI planes are fine.I have 2 questions:#1, Why? Is there a format difference with DirectX (the textures worked before I enabled DirectX) that makes older textures not recognizable by FSX?#2, What solutions are available?
  5. Because of hardware issues, FS9 add-ons work better for me than FSX add-ons.Unfortunately, sometimes I'm not able to access the add-ons (like Dreamwings Dash 8-Q400), but most will appear just fine. I've even had an aircraft that I couldn't access (IFDG A320). I put it into a folder of another IFDG aircraft and it worked. Unfortunately I can't figure out what is causing this, and what I need to do to the CFG file so I can access an airplane.
  6. I loaded an add-on A330-200 (by Thomas Ruth), but the airplane is invisible when I load it on to FSX. This has happened with other FSX add-ons, but doesn't seem to happen with the basic free-ware FS9 add-ons (I can use IFDG and Posky FS9 planes just fine). I can't figure out why this is happening by looking at either the texture files (it happens with all textures of this particular aircraft), or the aircraft.cfg file.Another annoying problem is invisible terminals during the night. The same airport is fine during the day, but shows me orphaned jetways at night. I'm guessing that both issues may be from the same root cause, but I can't figure out what is causing this problem.
  7. Changing the pool size didn't work. Is there any other ideas? On another note, how do I change the default taxi speed in FSX? Once again, I'm running into the difficulty of making FSX the way that I want it. I had FS9 set up perfectly to my needs and wants, but then my hard disk took a left turn and decided to lock up the data in the nether worlds of cyber space (I had no back ups). Ironically it happened shortly after the attack here happened, and I went through a 6 month mourning period, before coming back to Flight Simulator.
  8. Ok, I tried that- after finding the FSX.cfg (thanks for the help), but I still have no terminal, or airplane. This has nothing to do with Dusk to Night change. This happens with loading straight at night. If I load a FS9 plane, I get a full texture at night- just no terminals.
  9. Where exactly should my FSX.cfg file be. I've check my FSX file, and it isn't in the main folder. There is a config. folder, but no CFG file.
  10. It seems to happen whenever I am on nighttime mode. It happens when I load into night time.I'll try the adjustment in my FSX config.
  11. Ok, I'm sure they may be a simple cure for this, but I've tried my settings and can't seem to find what the solution is.With my FSX, I get no textures of buildings at night. For Example, at SFO, I get AI planes standing at gates with Jetways, but no terminal. This happens at all airports (even stock airports- which haven't been modified).Even changing my setttings to max on everything hasn't changed it.The case that I'm looking at right now. My Posky 777-200 with Air New Zealand livery is a ghost ship standing at row of jetways connecting to nothing.I change the time, and I've got my jet sitting at terminal, and everything is perfect. What do I need to do to fix this?
