  1. Hi fellow fliers, I have been fighting with a weird problem for the past while. I will be flying along quite happily when my FPS drop drastically, from 30 to 50 FPS down to 6, 7 or at busy areas 2 to 4. I have found after much experimenting that if I go "in game" to Options/Display tab, I don't do anything while I am there other than to OK it and hey presto, my FPS return to 20 and up until I once again go to an external view, even if I go to the VC and look around outside through the windows quite often I will get the same very poor FPS. I have tried using the DX10 preview but I use third party airplanes and don't get any paint so this for me is unacceptable.I am using an Intel Core I7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz with 4 GB Ram running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 OS, I am running FSX in XP SP3 compatibility mode. This problem seems to occur in all compatibility modes though. My video card is a Nvidia Gforce 8500GT with 1 GB Video Ram.Any help or ideas on this would be greatly aprieciated.
