  1. I had some experience with an operation that tried to get into the sked gig in YQL a good 6-7 years ago. We operated the smaller -8's, and still found the load factors discouraging. Despite some good support from the municipality people still just did not bother to jump on. The savings in just flying out of YYC was too tempting. It is a perfect market though for a 19-seat aircraft though, as Georgain/Air Canada do today. 13-19 seats was the usual load in our case.

AC's predatory pricing basically shoved us out of the market too, as we didn't have the pockets deep enough to constistently lose money on routes, nor was our network strong enough to subsidise poor performing routes with better ones. Of course West-Prop or whatever will have both ;). But if West-prop expects to see the same factors, costs-per-seat-mile, and margin's they are getting with their 37 operation then they arn't gonna be happy. Things will be tight for sure.

I filled in for a few time with a 1900 when I used to work at NCA. If it was the Regional 1 operation you were talking about. The loads were quite good on that. We went from yql-ylw-yvr.

  2. Very Nice, earlier this year we did CYYC, CYLW, (for a few days) and CYVR, before hoping on alaska to KSFO (Westjet wasn't flying directly to San Fran from Cowtown early in the year). But next year we are going to go to KSFO in the summer so we can fly direct there. Its nice considering its only a 2 hour drive to Calgary, and I got a couple of cousins that work at Westjet so I always get swag when I fly with them, lol.

Hey Dwayne. Hopefully the dash8 will be flying into where you live so you won't have to make that drive!

  3. They didn't use autothrottle? This I never knew. I wonder if they had it armed? Not a wise choice if they didn't since you lose alpha protection. I always scratched my head on why SWA never used some of the technology available. They use to not even use autobrakes before the chicago incident. Crazy.

  4. 'Educated guess' - SUREEEEE Coming from an old PMDG beta tester. hehe

Anyways, I am patiently waiting the T7 from PMDG. I truly cannot wait to pull onto the runway for the first time and spool up those GE90s. - Gets my adrenaline pumping just thinking about it. :Big Grin:

I would say it was coming from a long time customer. Been buying PMDG a lot longer than being a beta tester.

Jack, I've heard that you are RW pilot, but where is it stated that 108.0 will turn off marker sound? Or you know it from your experience?

I thought i have to turn off MKR switch on audio control panel.

Hey Rostyslav. This exact topic came up during beta. Ryan ad asked me about the marker beacons. And my honest answer was You know, I dont recall ever hearing the marker beacons going off in our plane. Up here in Canada we gt rid f marker beacons in the 90s but we do fly down in the states a lot. I am not sure if the marker beacon is an option (it must be) for the NG. So to tell you the truth I wouldn't know how to turn them off on the NG. I would assume (and a big assumption) would be they might work in conjunction with the ILS freq. so by turning the freq to 108.00 would ALMOST guarantee the dsabling of the beacons. I havent come across any ILS freqs that are 108.00. In fact the only 108.00 freq I know of is around LAS. I dont think its an ILS freq though. I only know it exists because unless we are using the NAV radios, they are always on 108.00. So we we are near LAS the green dashed line always appears on our ND.

  6. I just got a Thrustmaster Warthog and no longer need my Saitek X65F. If someone is interested in buying this off me let me know. I bought it for 400 bucks from NCIX. It is in MINT condition and still have the original box and everything. Let me know!

  7. Hey Mike. I think Jay was referring to my post as badmouthing not Al's post. I too believe CS COULD be a great company BUT for now they are a "take your money and run" type company. They either leave bugs untouched or they charge way too much for what they really offer. Yes, I know, no need to bring up their 9.99 deals. But seriously there are companies out there like RA that do a better job and charge less.

  8.

Well Jack, I own almost every plane CS makes and I dont' consider any a ripoff. And if you dont buy it, then how do you get 'ripped off'? Enquiring minds want to know!

Now there are other dev's I would never go near, but they dont rip me off either because I dont buy their products.

There is ONE dev I bought a 'lifetime sub' to and got ripped off, but he has seen my last dollar and I still dont come here and badmouth him.

Hey Jay. I have bought 3 CS products. None work like they should. As for badmouthing, I think it is a consumers right to know everything about a company they intend to purchase from so what you call badmouthing I call informing.

  9. Hey guys. Maybe one of you gurus can help me out. I have seen this before and the only option was to revert back to previous version of nvidia drivers. So I have a evga gtx480. I install the new 301.42's nd then later when I try an run fsx a screen pops up right away say something sbout my video card isn't good enough and I should at least have an nvidia8800 or ati something. Obviously I have at least an 8800. Anyone able to help me out? Thanks!

  10. Yep and there will be JUST enough people that buy this thing to make Wilco go "We did it again! Now whats the next piece of junk software we can fool these guys with".

Gentlemen, get it in your head. Companies like this will keep screwing you over until you give them a reason otherwise. To keep buying their crap software is NOT that reason. JEEZ!!!!!
