  1. It's a bit off topic, but here is the condensed version...1. Backup your Mission folder AND any addon Aircraft folders - If you have any addon aircraft with specific gauges, backup the Gauges folder2. Uninstall Acceleration Pack & any other FSX addons3. Uninstall MS FSX Standard (choose to keep save games)(Optional) Defragment your hard drive4. Install MS FSX Deluxe5. Install SP1 (unless your version of Deluxe is already SP1)6. Install Acceleration Expansion (which should also install SP2)7. Re-copy your saved Mission folder into the FSX installation (overwrite files)8. Re-copy your addon Aircraft folders (no files should be overwritten)9. Re-copy your Gauges folder (do NOT overwrite ANY gauge files)This should give you a clean install with FSX Deluxe/Acceleration and give you fully functional Maule and Goose for flying. Unfortunately, the Goose (as it comes setup in FSX Deluxe) sits way too high on the water to be an effective floatplane. You can fix this by updating your Goose configuration so it floats a little lower in the water and therefore acts more realistically. Just search for the update by Stefan Weiss on how to do this.Finally... If you are having problems with stuttering and freezing, you can actually back up your Mission, Aircraft, and Gauges folders and uninstall Acceleration. Then, download FSX SP2 and install it. Finally, copy back over the Missions, Aircraft, and Gauges folders. This gives you the Acceleration experience without all of the Acceleration updates. This helps because Acceleration has a few things that SP2 doesn't have which increase the demand on the computer. Many people have reported better framerates with this process. If your computer is already stout, though, this won't show much improvement.Hope this all helps,Wookie
  2. One of the bugs, which occurs only in the Standard Edition of Flight Simulator X, is that the Maule Air Orion aircraft used in the mission has missing gauges and other problems, as it is a Deluxe Version-only aircraft.Basically, you have the "bare bones" of the aircraft installed, but not the necessary gauges... also I believe the AIR file is different as well (which means the aircraft flies differently).Possible workarounds:1. Go back and buy the Deluxe version, yeah right, but it does work2. Alias the panel to the one in your C172 - or -3. Copy the entire panel folder from your C172 folder into the Maule folder (be sure to rename the Maule's original panel folder first so you have a backup)4. Edit the Maule panel.cfg to point to existing gauges (mostly from the C172)While numbers 2 & 3 won't give you a functional virtual cockpit to fly from, they should give you a 2D panel that functions very similar to the Maule panel. To get the virtual cockpit, you are going to either need to edit the panel.cfg file and substitute out the gauges for ones you have installed --> look at your C172 panel file for ideas on which ones to sub out... the biggest problem is going to be the autopilot... (OR) buy the deluxe version. That being said, if you look around, you can find a Maule download for FS2004 with fully functional gauges. Theoretically you could install just the gauges from that aircraft and remap your existing Maule panel.cfg to look for the new gauges. It's possible, you may only need to install the missing autopilot gauge. If you find another workaround, please repost here. Good luck. For anyone still looking for the crash sites, please check out my walkthrough which can be found at...http://cop.utmem.edu/kcopeland/fs/ (under Acceleration Mission Walkthroughs).Wookie
  3. Great Ozzie is correct, you need to get down and find that Caravan ASAP. Once you have him in sight, you should approach him from behind and to his (and your) left. He will most likely be flying around 220 mph (190 kts) at ~1500-2000 ft so you will need to slow to that speed/height to match him. Once you are behind him, to the left, and flying a matched speed, slowly add a little throttle and just slightly overtake him. As soon as you are in front of his windshield, bank your wings at least 45 degrees left and right several times until Guardian 1 tells you that you have his attention and to perform a touch and go. Pause the sim, and SAVE. Follow Ozzie's instructions, however understand that my mission made me return to 10,000 ft on patrol before it was successful. Also, if for some reason the mission will sometimes fail you once you have the Caravan's attention if he accidentally flies directly over the missile launch's location. That is why you should save before landing. If that happens, make your approach to the runway a standard left-hand pattern.Good luck,Wookie
  4. For anyone who is interested, I have posted walkthroughs of the Acceleration Missions (except the Racing ones) on my website. They are seperated into their respective categories (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert) with a PDF for each category. The total size for all 4 files is ~1.3 Mb. http://cop.utmem.edu/kcopeland/FS/I have tried to include screenshots/pics/etc. of difficult areas or situations. Please let me know if you find any discrepancies or disparities when you are flying the missions.I hope this helps someone!Wookie
