  1. Thanks Steve, regretfully this did not work for me :( What values are you putting in to the 'reverse' box? At the moment 100% on the Saitek throttles takes it to the detent, and 50% takes it to flight idle. This really is very annoying, but hopefully the majestic guys will be on the case! Cheers, Richard
  2. Hey all, I thought you'd all be interested in this: http://www.smartcockpit.com/plane/BOMBARDIER/DASH-8-400.html Pretty much the real world systems manual, online, free of charge. Cheers, Richard
  3. Hi all, I see this is a problem with quite a few users. Anyone got any solutions yet? I just cannot get my Saitek throttles to calibrate! When my Saitek throttles are at 100% (control panel value of 65280), the throttles in the airplane are at 77%. When my throttles are at 25% which is value 15104 on the control panel, the throttles in the airplane are at 0%. I have tried typing in the values I want in the control panel, and then I click 'Apply' but nothing happens. I then reload the aircraft, close the control panel but there has been no changes. Just how am I supposed to properly calibrate my Saitek Throttles? Many thanks. Richard
  4. Ah okay, got it now. I had been following the FAQ's on the website to no avail. I retried it step by step and it worked so I must have missed something. First impressions are really really really good!!!
  5. Hi Guys, I just bought the dash 8 and installed it into FSX. After opening up FSX and loading a default flight I loaded the dash-8 and it appears with the wheels up, no sound, yoke hard over to the left, and no switches work. Anyone else had similar problems? Cheers Richard
  6. Ah not to worry, it was the 'display text' option that was holding things up!
  7. Hi, I have installed RC; deselected single line messages and accepted multiline messages in FSUIPC. However the menu function is dreadfully slow. If I receive an instruction it takes about 30 to 50 seconds before the option comes for a readback (#7 on the menu). Anyone esle have this problem? Cheers.
  8. Ah okay thanks for the replies. Just hadn't seen any official statement about project 2. Thanks.
  9. Good Day; I just wanted some clarification, as far as I am aware PMDG have stated that they have 2 secret projects in the works. Project #1 has been announced, so is the 744 v2.0 going to be project #2, or is the second secret project going to be an entirely different product? Thanks, Richard
  10. Hi guys,So I'm going through the J41 AOM by PMDG and a real world J41 flight manual that I got off the internet and I have a few questions thus far if you don't mind (finer points really).#1 VCACS system operation:I'm guessing for cooling the config is VCACS to 'on', fans either hi or lo and the recirc switch hi or lo?How about for heating? I'm guessing VCACS 'Fans Only' and the recirc switch hi or lo; with the heating switch 'on'.#2 Pressurisation: After initial power up I get and error code 'A013' and I'm unable to set landing elev unless the switch is set to manual and then back to auto. Is this normal? It's not in either manual.#3 TAS/TAT indicator: Why does this guage display all '8's in the window until engine start?#4 How common is operation of this aircraft without a GPU?when operating without a GPU I take it you get clearance through the ground clearance unit, then start the engines and wait for the AHRS to align itself whilst setting the RMU.#5 and finally; How do I calculate minimum takeoff lengths required (TODA, TORA, ASDA etc)? I'm used to doing this on small aircraft but I could find anything in the RW manual apart from airline specifc tables for individual airport runways, It states that for the takeoff run required the airline has to calculate this for each runway using factors such as TOW, anti-ice, bleeds, rwy condition, slope etc. and then issue it to the pilots. I am guessing because it's so complicated that a way of doing it manualy is not possible? Is there no way I can manualy calculate the takeoff distance for the J41?Thanks for your help!Richard Cruse
  11. Thanks very much for your help guys. That seems to have done the trick.Cheers!
  12. Thanks for your help. I havn't tried the Vista version of the Uianimationcore, will do that later and see how it goes! The version of fsuipc I am using is unregistered, it came when I installed the J41.Cheers!

  14. Hi all,Firstly I realised I posted in the wrong forum (not the CTD forum), my mistake, can't find how to move or delete it sorry!I have just bought a new PC specs are as follows:Windows 7 Home Premium SP1Intel i5-2500k @ 3.3 Ghz8 GB RAMAMD Radeon HD6700 1GbAll I have installed is FSX, PMDG J41, and using Saitek Pro Flight yoke, throttle, and peddels.FSX randomly CTD's with the message 'fatal error' and then restarts. This happens no matter which aircraft that I am using, and it always happens 'in game'.It always happens when I select something on the top menu bar, or the menu that is bought up upon right clicking.I searched already the forums here but can't find anything that matches my circumstances. Not knowing much about computers, I don't know were to start. Is there some kind of error log I can view? Can anyone point me in the right direction?Thank you;Richard
  15. Yeah I am very lucky indeed! I feel for you - not great times at the moment for many industries...Thanks again for your help and all the best.Richard
  16. Yeah that's done the trick thank you! The bad news is my job's taking me away for 6 weeks so I'll have to wait now to use it! That said I just opened it up and it looks stunning! Very Happy.
  17. Excellent ill try that when I get home! Thank you!
  18. Hi Guys,I have just bought the J41 and installed it with FSX SP2.The trouble is that I can't change anything in the config manager. When I open it, the default is 'medium' and 'beige'. I select 'high' and 'grey', click 'save settings', get a message confirming that all has been saved, and then I exit. However when I reopen FSX and load the J41 it gives me the beige panels again! I want grey panels and realistic (high) settings but I can't get it to save!Any idea's?ThanksRichard
  19. Hi Guys,Im looking at buying a new PC and before I melt my credit card I just wanted to check (as my knowledge on the subject is mediocre at best!) if the specs were suitable.I am looking at running FSX with PMDG's latest products and a copy of Radar Contact. Here is the machine:http://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/range/irushpro.htmlI can't really stretch my budget any further as I'm getting a yoke and monitor too!I was told though, that FSX runs better with nvidea cards, so I was thinking of asking them to swap the ATI card with an nvidea one. Any benefit in this do you think? Thanks for your opinions!Richard
  20. Hi all,So, I'm in the market for a new PC, but I'm on a budget! I have been looking at these two machines:http://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/range/irush.htmlhttp://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/range/irushpro.htmlTaking into account that I would need windows 7 on there, it's about a £90 difference. However I was also hoping to buy the Saitek Pro Yoke and Peddels, I would need speakers, a monitor, a copy of FSX and PMDG's J41, so it all adds up!The question then is, is it worth it do you think? It means the difference between an i5 2400 and an i5 2500, 4Gb RAM as opposed to 8Gb and a slightly different graphics card.Would the former, cheaper system be enough to run PMDG's products smoothly?Would be interested what you think (or if indeed both are not suitable!)Cheers!Richard
  21. Thanks for the help and the links; I had my eye on a Pan Am one but it was $70, whereas thats just over $40 so that's a help.Yeah I already have the Concorde flight manual from flightmanualsoncd.com; an absolutely fascinating read and I might get the simlabs concorde at some point. I prefer to stick with one type and get really into flying that aircraft though. The beauty of the 727 is it is a relatively simple aircraft system wise but it still has that ruggedness to it. Both types are pretty amazing feats of engineering really, the concorde in that it used shear inginuity to overcome a series of problems, but the 727 is just stubbon. Thanks again!!!
  22. Hey guys,Thanks for the replies. I really am a fan of the 727; so I've been wanting to get one for FS for a long time. Think I'll go ahead then and tweak the files so I can use the RW performance manual with it. Now my only problem is I might find myself at sea until September with no access to my PC.......Oh well. Thanks again guys!
  23. Hi all,I'm thinking of buying the CS727 (my favorite aircraft of all time!) but I have read of quite a few bugs, things like incorrect flap settings, dodgy autopilot, sound issues etc.Have these been fixed? Also I read that the flight model isn't exactly 100%; being as I was going to fly from a RW performance manual, is it at least reasonable in terms of EPR settings etc? Thanks guys.Richard
  24. Hi all,The standard radio altimeter call out at 2500ft is 'TWENTY FIVE HUNDRED'.However I have heard some airlines that use a 'RADIO ALTIMETER' call at 2500 ft instead (British Airways for example).I was wondering if anyone had a .wav of such a callout? I used to have it when I owned PS1 but that was a long time ago!Anyone help?Much appreicated.Richard
  25. Hi again. It is an odd one. The texture.AAL_2K8 file is under the aircraft/maddog2008 folder with the .jpg at the bottom (which came with the download)(I find it odd that the folder is called maddog2008 even though I purchased the 2010 edition)The aircraft.cfg file is as you see it.Despite this nothing shows up on the fs9 aircraft menu apart from the default livery or on the load manager.Odd.Thanks for all your help and ideas though.Richard
