  3. San Francisco based Fusion Airways unveils plans to launch commuter service from the airline's San Francisco hub.Press Contact: bcosgrove(a t)fusionairways(d o t)comSan Mateo, CA November 02, 2010 (PRWEB) -- San Francisco based Fusion Airways (FUS) announced Tuesday that the airline had purchased three Embraer ERJ-145XR Aircraft to launch a newly branded airline. Fusion Connection will provide Regional Jet service up and down the Pacific Coast of California, Washington and Oregon and will connect Fusion's existing route network to smaller markets that a Regional Jet would be better suited to serve. The Embraer ERJ-145 is a 50 passenger regional jet, offering the comfort of a larger jet with the cost savings of a smaller propeller type regional aircraft. With modern seats, Fusion's In-Flight Entertainment System Zoom!, and fuel-saving blended winglets, the Embraer ERJ-145 offers all the existing amenities of Fusion's larger jet fleet. Fusion Airways purchased three used Embraer ERJ-145XR's and the airline has begun to paint and overhaul the aircraft at the airline's maintenance headquarters in Victorville, California.Fusion Airways released an artist's rendition of what the new aircraft will look like.Fusion Connection will be operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fusion Airways, and the same flight crews operating Fusion Airways flights will operate Fusion Connection flights. Fusion Connection will be marketed under the Fusion Airways name, and reservations will still be handled through Fusion's existing reservation system. Fusion's old fleet of Embraer E-190 Jets are being stored for several reasons, mainly the fact that Fusion Airways has determined that the current market does not support the operation of these jets and the airline has yet to see substantial revenue produced from the Embraer E-190 aircraft. Initially the ERJ-145's will launch service from San Francisco to Aspen, Colorado and Palm Springs, California initially. More destinations are going to be announced in the coming days.Fusion Airways also announced exciting new service beginning in late November from the airline's hub in San Francisco and from Fusion's Focus City in Fort Lauderdale to Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport. This service will launch Fusion's inaugural service to Texas, and will bridge a gap in the airline's expanding route structure. Additionally, pending governmental approval, Fusion Airways will launch daily nonstop service between New York, New York and London, Heathrow Airport; Fort Lauderdale Airport and Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Fort Lauderdale to San Juan, Puerto Rico and finally Fort Lauderdale to Mexico City service. Exact schedules or equipment have not been released for the new routes, however tickets will go on sale starting Sunday. Several other changes are planned for the Fall 2010 timetable, including the reduction of service to three cities (Seattle from San Francisco, Washington D.C. from New York, and Phoenix from San Francisco), and Fusion cutting service to Vancouver from San Francisco; Washington from Chicago and San Francisco; Boston from Chicago and San Francisco; Charlotte from New York; Toronto from New York; Jamaica from Fort Lauderdale; Vermont from New York and service from New York to London Gatwick will all face reduction or service cuts."We are extremely excited with the new routes we are able to add to our already diverse route network. The reduction in service to some cities will provide the equipment to launch new service to our new destinations just in time for the holiday season." Fusion's President and Chief Operating Officer, Bobby Cosgrove, said Tuesday morning. He continued: "With the addition of the Embraer ERJ-145 to our fleet, we will eventually be able to expand into smaller markets, bringing Fusion's award-winning service to even more customers throughout the world."Fusion Airways also re-affirmed that the airline was once again seeking qualified applicants to join it's team of award winning virtual aviation professionals. Fusion Airways is hiring for the position of First Officer for Fusion's fleet of Boeing 737, 757, and 767 aircraft.
