  1. I use RC4 constantly on my Vista system. I would also like to run it on my XP system. I understand I need a second key. What is the cost for this? Any discount for already owning RC4? Great program!
  2. B777-800, FSX, Shannon airport (EINN). Ground: "Taxi to holding point rwy 24." Ack. "Contact tower." ack and contact. Tower: "line up and wait." Ack. Nothing from tower for 5 minutes. To test, I took off. Tower immediately comes back with "Sir, I gave you a heading of 285." No matter which runway I ask for, Tower never gives instructions after "Line up and wait."
  3. In flight I hit 0 for Main. I get a "Taxi to runway xx and hold short. Tower on nnnn. Delta xxxx." This doesn't happen all the time, however. But it does happen when Otto is flying and has the comms.
  4. Page 134 of the RC manual says "you will need to apply for a new key to run RC on the second machine." Is there a charge for a second key?
  5. Thanks! Amazingly small fix. I will pass it on to the developer.
  6. Does anyone know how to pass a parameter to FS Commander in Windows 7 that tells it whether to load its FS9 or FSX databases? I asked the developer but they told me that no version of Windows has the ability to set up a desktop shortcut with a parameter. Instead, you have to call the program with a parameter (like fscommander 0 or fscommander 1). I suppose this means you have to use a Windows 7 Run command, but this seems awkward.
  7. Very embarrassing. That is what the problem was.thanks!
  8. In doing a vor-to-vor check, the NAV2 needle is alive and points to the VOR. NAV1 is dead-red flag and needle doesn't move as the OBS is changed (both nav's tuned to the same VOR). I haven't seen this problem until recently. I have FSUIPC 3.9 (registered), Radar Contact V4. Saitek multi-panel, 2 Saitek throttle quadrants, one Saitek yoke. Windows 7 b4-bit, FS9 with acceleration pack.Anyone have any solution short of re-installing the sim?
  9. Do you mean probe heat? Yes. If it were a pitot tube freeze, the backup altimeter would also be stuck.
  10. At 7000 ft on downwind to an ILS to KSMF, the PFD altimeter is at 7000. ATC commands descent to 3000. Autopilot descends to 3000 according to the backup altimeter but the PFD altimeter remains at 7000. Disabling autothrottle and autopilot will not budge it. Environment: Windows 7 64-bit, FS9 SP1, FSUIPC 3.99, PMDG 737 1.03, Radar Contact 4.03.
  11. Yes, I moved autosave.dll out of the modules folder. RC4 Save/Load now works. I just looked at the autosave docs. Pete's software automatically deletes .rcd files after the limit is reached. I'm going to try making the autosave interval long (to protect against power outages during long flights) and maximize the # of autosave files.
  12. OK, but the problem is that the files don't show up in Windows Explorer, even when it is run as Adminstrator.
  13. Well, I thought I had, but saving .rcd files doesn't work any more, no matter what keys I use even after quitting RC and exiting the sim. What may be happening is that I have Pete Dowson's autosave.dll running and it IS making .rcd files. I can load one of these into RC4 and I am back up at the autosave point. Is it possible that this conflicts with the RC4 Save/Load function? It just will not save .rcd files, although tutorial # 2 says all you have to do is Quit RC. I think this is a significant problem because the RC manual uses Save/Load a lot.thanks!
  14. No. But Otto just started flying the plane. Don't know what changed.thanks!
  15. Not sure. Just the standard off-the-shelf fs2004 Embraer.
  16. I have RC4 using standard FS9 Embraer 170 with AP on, ALT and NAV set. Copilot has comms and is flying. Center gives altitude changes. Otto responds but doesn't change altitude. Windows 7 64-bit, FS2004 with SP1.
  17. Ran it again with DEBUG on just before JVL. Same problem. I am inbound on about 132 deg and at TEDDY Approach turns me to 50 deg. At KRENA Approach clears me for ILS 14L and turns me to 110 deg. But that heading will never intercept the localzer course of 143 - it diverges from it.I zipped the rcv4.log but the forum won't allow me to attach it; same with the non-zipped file.Having the moving map turned off didn't make any difference.
  18. I used the semi-colon key in-flight to save a file that I could give a meaningful name to. I then quit RC, exited the sim, started the sim at the departure airport, started RC, hit the Load Previously Saved RCD button, and the file was there. It took FS to the saved point with everything good. Note however that RC must be stopped and the sim must be stopped after saving the file, or the .rcd file does NOT appear. This doesn't seem to be in the manual. This is with the standard B737-400 in FS9. So I don't see the advantage of usin CS semicolon anyway!
  19. Paused before JVL. ALT-TAB to RC, but Debug is grayed out. Now what?
  20. then why do the .flt files follow the naming convention on p. 119 of the manual? For instance, one file name is 219-55633-V41_KDSMKORD-9$2.FLT. Something is very strange here. According to the naming conventions, 219 should be the day of the year, but I didn't install RC until this past week (5/1 or so). The flight plan name V41_KDSMKORD didn't exist until I ran the first RC tutorial. The controller number (9) is correct since I did the save during Approach. I am at a loss to getting the Save/Load function to work. FS was running when I tried to Load. The .flt/.wx Path button was set correctly. RC4 Property was set to Run as Administrator.
  21. Here is a screenshot of the folder where the saved files are. They have .flt extension (not .rcd) - is that correct? Also, FS running, .flt/.ws path set correctly, RC set with property Run as Administrator.
  22. I may have diffferent symptoms of overload. I have flown the first tutorial twice (pp. 140-150 of the manual). Both flights were fine until KRENA (35 nm from ORD). According to the manual, I should have been switched to Approach 40 nm from ORD but it didn't happen until about 17 nm from ORD. Then I was given a heading 0f 110 to intercept the localizer course (132) for runway 14L.. It's obvious that that heading is not going to intercept the localizer inbound on a heading of 132 from KRENA to ORD; it would just put me further away from the localizer. I tried to turn inbound to intercept the localizer, but it was impossible that close to ORD. This happened on both flights. Could it be that Flightsim Commander (which uses FSUIPC) is sending (or requesting?) so mucn traffic to FSUIPC that RC is gettting behind? I guess I'll quit FS Commander after doing the flight plan and avoid the moving map. If I try this again, should I have DEBUG turned on?
  23. Thanks again. I don't think it is a performance issue as FRAPS is showing 45 fps on my 6 cpu AMD Phenom. However, it's possible because FS Commander uses a moving map but it seems to get to a waypoint before it is actually reached.
  24. I saved a number of .rcd files during my first tutorial flight. And they are in the Flight Simulator Files directory along with .wx files and .pln files. But when I press the Load Previously Saved .rcds button in RC it navigates to the correct folder but says no .rcd files were found. The .rcd files all have positive sizes, from 11 kb to 14 kb. I am running RC4 as Administrator under Windows 7.I looked for answers to this but the problems all seem to be different from this.
  25. I have RC4 up and running but inadvertently let it install under Program Files in Windows 7. If I want to move it to a directory where I won't have the "run as admin" problem, should I uninstall, re-install, and request a new key?
